Lake Superior Waterfront Home with Wood Fired Sauna and Igloo

Welcome to the cozy Beaver Beach House. Enjoy endless blue water views and the spectacular sunrises in this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin seated steps from the water of Lake Superior on the Au Train Bay. Relax in a wood fired sauna or in the igloo on the beach. Seconds from the Au Train Bay boat launch, salmon and trout fishing is fantastic. ATV and snowmobile trails are across the street. Au Train Beach is within minutes walking distance. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, numerous waterfalls and endless hikes are moments away. The cabin is situated 30 minutes from Marquette and 13 minutes from Munising. There is a bonfire pit with chairs overlooking the lake. Guests must supply their own fire wood. Spend your nights on the porch listening to the waves and watching the Northern Michigan stars. It’s truly a spectacular cabin to relax in and call home for a while! We use Happy Guest property management for rental agreements and liability coverages. They handle all communication after booking.

Overall, our stay was quite good, but there were a few issues with the property that need to be addressed. First is the well water - they did tell us that they recently had a new well, but the amount of sediment made it difficult to do things we expected such as give our kids a bath or use the water from the sink to cook pasta. There were also some clearly unfinished projects or repairs needed - trim falling down, vinyl floor coming up in places, ceiling tile on lower level removed.The location is perfect for hiking and sightseeing, but the house is very close to a main road. Car noise inhibited the enjoyment of the lakeside solitude. The sauna, views (even saw a bald eagle from the porch), and lakeside area were marvelous but some drawbacks for sure.

We loved our stay at Beaver Beach House. It was close to everything in Munising and we spent time chasing waterfalls and did a boat tour with Grand Island Boat Rentals. The beach at the house was very rocky with no sand so it was hard to walk but my two year old still had a blast throwing rocks in the water and rock combing. The home was very clean and the owners were so personable and responded extremely quickly. We did have two mice inside, that we got out, and owners called pest maintenance. It was a great location and an overall relaxing stay!

This place is beautiful even more than the pictures. It has everything you need. We had 8 adults a toddler and a dog here with no issues. Steps away from Lake Superior and a Sauna. The house is fully equipped. We will definitely be coming back!

Perfect location for snowmobiling

The Beaver beach house was the perfect location and set up for our March snowmobile trip. The house was clean and the sauna and views of Lake Superior were amazing. Look forward to returning.

Amazing view

Loved our stay. Plenty of sleeping space. Fully equipped kitchen. Rocky beach but amazing view and sauna was perfect! Just a few minutes walk to beachy access. Restaurant across the street was ok. We think we picked the wrong things. Would definately go back for summer vibes with friends.

A Gem!

What a wonderful place on Lake Superior! My husband and I spent 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. Communication with the owners was wonderful and they were extremely accommodating. House was cozy, clean and had everything for a comfortable stay. Waking up to the sunrise over the lake was spectacular. The backyard facing the lake is just incredible! You literally can sit there all day looking at the lake and then looking at the night sky while sitting around the fire. Plus there is a sauna with a picture window overlooking the lake which feels amazing after hiking and exploring all day (be sure to do a cold plunge in the lake after!). Location was ideal for visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Marquette, Hiawatha National Forest and even day tripping to Tahquemenon falls state park.This lovely home is a gem!

Beautiful lakefront home

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. It was so peaceful listening to the water lapping at the shore. My son played by the water for hours. I enjoyed reading in the hammock. The house had everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and beds were comfortable. Great location for exploring the UP parks. Would highly recommend this home and would happily stay here again!

Perfect UP Getaway

This was an amazing centrally located place to stay for our UP getaway. The house had an amazing view and plenty of space. The washer and dryer were an amazing perk as well. Very clean and well stocked with all the essentials. Our morning cups of coffee on the balcony and the fire pits on the shore were definitely highlights. We loved all of the designated outside sitting areas. A lot of pages were read in the outside lounge chair. I was a little worried about highway noise but didn’t notice it. The hosts were amazing and so quick to respond. We will definitely be staying here again.

Wouldn't Stay Again

There is some room for improvement with this property. The owners did a great job with communication and renovations to try to make this house more accommodating however, there are a few things to mention for future renters. There is NO A/C. Somehow we missed that and with 80+ degree weather we were hot. The owner said to open the windows, but some of the windows didn't have screens and the sliding glass door screen was ripped which let mosquitos in at night. In addition, the window coverings are pitiful and need updating to ones that actually fit the window. They are ALL too small to cover the entire windows which lets a lot of light in. Furthermore, there are NO window coverings in one of the bedrooms with a house next door that can look in the windows while you change clothes. All windows should have window coverings that actually fit the window. When we first walked in there was something beeping. After further investigation, we found one of the Carbon Monoxide monitors was the culprit. Contacted the owner who knew something was beeping because the cleaning person told him, but nothing was done about it prior to our arrival. I changed the batteries in the monitor and it fixed the problem. There was not any kitchen cleaner, limited toilet paper, we did run out of paper towels and had to use our own, almost ran out of trash bags but found more after searching. The bath towels smelled like mold. Way overpriced for what you get. Needs better accommodations for guests.

Cozy Superior

Great place and trip with our little family of 4. 8 year old and 4 year old kids loved it. Fire pit and paddle board put to use and awesome to paddle the shores in morning and evening. Hosts did a fantastic job using the space and well kept. Treated it with the respect the place deserves. Restaurant across the street a gem just like this place. The use of space upstairs, downstairs, bedrooms, kitchen all nicely out together making it feel like anyone away from home. NBA Jam was fun as was the nice play space for the kids. Great location as well close to much adventure or peace and quiet. Thank you for the memories.

Great location with a beautiful view!

We had a wonderful time exploring all the area has to offer. The view was beautiful and accommodations were amazing. Plenty of room for friends and family to relax, play cards and have a bonfire. The hosts were easy to connect with and more than accommodating, this was a great experience and we will definitely stay again.

Amazing home even better location

We stayed here with 3 boys (ages 9-13) and 4 adults. The home was clean and ready when we arrived. Communication with home owners was immediate and they even went out of their way to suggest some local things to do for the kids in conversation. The house location is perfect. You have Marquette close by one way and pictured rocks even closer the other. We did chapel hill hike and the sunset cruise one evening. The home itself in Au Train has amazing views on Lake Superior. We sat out back on the water a lot!! I would recommend the home for a wonderful UP weekend getaway. We had a blast!

Breathtaking views!! Very peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the lake! At night the waves could be heard crashing on the rocks outside the windows! Cabin was clean and well stocked with amenities. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Great Lake Superior Frontage Home

We enjoyed our stay right on Lake Superior! The house was plenty big enough for our family and just as described. It is rocky, but that is clear in the photos, so we took full advantage of rock hunting with our kiddos. Our only complaint would be road noise, but the waves do their best to drown that out!

Short Superior get-a-way

Property was exactly as represented and the hosts were extremely responsive to all our questions. Cottage was just the right size for our extended family of 7. Nice and clean and newly remodeled. We used this location as a base camp for our trips along the lakeshore. My niece paddleboarded at sunrise which was cool - and we had a nice outdoor fire one night. The only downfall is the rocky shore, if you are looking for a place with a sand beach - but sand beaches are very close just down the road. We enjoyed our stay!!

Awesome place!!!

We had a party of 10 for our trip. Adults, teens, kids and an infant. This place was great. Had everything we needed and more. Gorgeous view of the lake from several rooms. The property managers were easy to communicate with and there were plenty of thoughtful things throughout the home. We will be definitely return if in the area again.

The house has a beautiful view, but it is difficult to get to the water. Big rocks We had some water issues and the owner had to have maintenance staff come over. He responded right away. Then we had mice. I wrote the owner and he indicated he could hardly believe it. We caught two and still no visit with traps. I was disappointed. We had to take care of mice by ourselves. The house was musty and the bathroom downstairs is so small, you could barely shut the door. For the amount we paid and the issues we had, we would not rent this house again. Mtammy
