Scenically situated on the shores of Owasco Lake in Auburn, Moon Rise House gained its name from its incredible lakefront setting - especially during full moons. The panoramic view follows you from the living room to the kitchen down to the dock, even luring passersby to stop and admire the scene.
The house is located on the lake's western shore, right across the road from 48 feet of usable lake frontage. Owasco is a great lake for boating, tubing, fishing (for panfish, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and lake trout), even ice fishing when the conditions are right. There's a dock (available seasonally from May to October, weather permitting) at the water's edge, where you can take out the provided kayaks or park a V-hull or pontoon boat rented through Owasco Marine. Just be sure to check with the owner that water levels can accommodate your craft.
Here in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, you'll be conveniently close to all sorts of attractions. Be sure to visit the Merry-Go-Round Play House, Prison City Brewing, Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, Millard Fillmore State Park, and Del Lago Casino. Auburn itself is rich in history and offers a range of activities, from exploring Harriet Tubman National Historical Park and the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center to discovering over 130 wineries and breweries in the area. Go leaf-peeping in fall, plan a spa weekend with friends, or take part in the It’s a Wonderful Run 5K each December.
No matter how you spend your time, this recently updated home makes a scenic and comfortable respite. Dock details: The dock is across the street. Please contact the owner to establish if your boat can access the dock due to water depth.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
