This is a mountain lodge - rustic conditions outside, but you'll find a very comfy bed on the inside. Stayed in the hotel and had two twin beds with comforters. I am hot-blooded so the Comforter was a bit much for me, but my wife was cold with one, so she asked for another. Shower was excellent and powerful! Dinner was excellent and the breakfast was a Nordic continental. Cured Fish, Cold Cuts/Cheese, H.B.Eggs, cereal, fresh fruit, home baked bread and jams, etc. Healthy and it will keep you full while hiking. A bit out of the way, but isn't that what we are looking for in the wilderness? If it wan't so far from the US, I would be staying here on all of my hiking adventures.

Although a little bit of a drive from anywhere, it was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the apartment, it was really big and the porch was just amazing. Dinner and breakfast was really good too. They did charge an extra fee for cleaning unless you cleaned it yourself. We had 4 women so we just did it ourselves.

When we arrived in the town of Aurland, we found out the hotel is 40 minutes up in the mountain. The taxi wanted to charge us $100.00 to go in each direction. The tunnel was also closing and opening at certain times. We ended up having to book a hotel in the town and pay an additional $300.00 to stay in town near the ferry pier. The hotel manager did agree to meet the taxi driver at the tunnel entrance, but it was still very stressful and expensive. It simply wasn’t made clear enough in the reservation that the hotel is 40 minutes away from the town of Aurland. With all this said, we never actually stayed at the hotel.

Vi hadde et flott opphold. Stedet hadde nettopp åpnet for sesongen og det var ikke så mange besøkende. Hyggelig og serviceminded personal som ga super veiledning for fotturen dagen etter. Vi spiste en nydelig middag i koselige lokaler.
