Such a lovely property! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the beautiful views as well as the fire pit and hot tub, such a lovely spot. Our dog has never been happier getting to swim in the stunning pond and relax on the deck and screened in porch. The home inside is so lovely as well and even if the weather wasn’t 100% outside we enjoyed watching movies inside. Although it’s a little ways away to Acadia we still were excited after a long day of hiking to come back and enjoy the serene property. We would definitely book this property again and cannot recommend it enough!

The property was as advertised. It is a beautiful cabin hidden in an amazing spot. The water access was great, kids loved the paddle boat, fishing off the pier, and swimming in the pond. There is nothing that I would change. Thank you for letting us stay at your house.

This was truly a dream. My parents, my little pup and I spent an amazing week at the Great Pond retreat in July.. We got very lucky with the weather . The house had everything we could’ve ask for and more. It was set up with love and we could tell the owners put a lot of thought into every detail. Gene was very responsive and helpful. We all relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We loved it so much that immediately after getting home we booked the house for the next year’s summer vacation.

We had a great stay. The access to water, nature, and a secluded oasis was the much needed break we needed. Property had all the amenities inside that we needed. It was extremely quiet and dark outside in evening. It was very easy to get rest. The property was slightly not as pictured due to seasonal change for some of it but the hot tub was different than the one pictured and the cabin has shed a bit since pictured. The cottage did have a lot of character and we would book again. The location an hour from Airport in Bangor, Ellsworth, and Acadia National Park made it a great location once you figure out which driveway it is down. Did try to reach out to host with no luck, but we were able to figure it out on our own. We were away from it all, but could easily get where we wanted to go, so all in all a great trip!

The house was everything pictured and more. It's well-established, but very modern. Although the weather was cold and windy part of our visit, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The lake is pristine and my grandson loved taking the paddle boat out with his grandpa. The landscaping was really luxurious and planted carefully to grow in place for the future. Hummingbirds entertained us from our seat in the hot tub and the floral fragrance was an added bonus. The kitchen is well equipped, and the appliances including a gas range were perfect. The beds were comfortable, but the loft space was so small our grandson at 5'4" couldn't stand upright. The bathroom is a little outdated with a spa garden tub and a shower stall as opposed to a larger shower and smaller more usable tub. The drive to the house is a couple of miles off the beaten path, yet the road is fully occupied with landowners and rental houses. It's a nice neighborhood, though quite remote, which is what we wanted.

Nice stay, we enjoyed our stay. The location is unique and enjoyable, but be aware that the locarion is quite remote and there is limited phone service on the property. Also, the water heater does not keep up with hot water demands if there are a lot of people needing water. Overall, we were glad we chose this house because it was a very nice setting. Our family loved the hot tub and the very large pond.

A great place to stay with so many amenities, a high quality home on a gorgeous remote lake setting. The biggest surprise was a 1500+ pound bull moose running full speed crashing through the forest. The fall colors were just starting along with impressive sunrises. The listing should emphasize remote area with no cell phone coverage. There is wifi, but spotty...email is fine. The house has a land line but no long distance capability for inbound/outbound calls. A member of our party was seriously injured on the property. In the emergency we reached the county sherriff, who then summoned emergency services (arrived one hour later). The situation was made worse by having to drive 15 minutes to find cell phone service in order to coordinate additional ongoing assistance to our injured party. The generosity of the owner during and after the emergency was exceptional and appreciated. This is a great young family get away or for a romantic getaway but future renters should communicate closely with the owner if you have any reservations about renting a remote property. Additionally, the listing should explain when the dock is stored on shore. We learned after making our final lease payment that fishing dramatically closes to many species on October 1. Our stay was negatively affected by this when we had expected a two-week fishing experience from Washington state to remote Maine. Although our stay was marred by an emergency, I highly recommend this property. We loved it.

This property is very nice and as advertised! We had a great visit. The kitchen is as well equipped as any vrbo I've experienced. I note that google maps sent us to a property down the road based on the address provided, but we figured it out.

I stayed with my hubby my son and his family and we all absolutely enjoyed it all. It was a beautiful property enjoyed sitting and enjoying that great fire pit and pond. Was the perfect place to get the R&R that we were looking for. Our 3 year old grandson had a grand time at the pond. He caught his first fish a great time. Thank you....Debbie

The cabin is so comfortable with all amenities. We walked the Long Pond road and enjoyed reading in the main room with a nice fire going. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t use the lake, but we loved our stay!

I don't know how the check in process usually occurs and maybe this was a fluke experience but I had not gotten a single message from VRBO or the property manager from day 1 of booking.
I was expecting a full detailed check in process but got silence for months. My wife and I searched the area for 45- 60 min and finally met with a resident on the lake (very nice woman) who also agreed it was unacceptable that we got no special instructions especially on how to find the cabin. She was very courteous and led us to the cabin a short distance away.
Once there, the cabin and experiences were amazing . We spent a lot of time at the lake and the sunroom. Bluetooth speakers in the home were very nice and easy to connect to. Cabin was fully stocked and well updated.
Overall we would definitely revisit. Serenity 👌

This was hands down the best vacation property we’ve ever rented! The house and grounds are even nicer in person than they are in the pictures. The lighting and the decor are a total vibe. The lake is stunning, especially the loons serenading us each night. The home has a ton of character and is extremely well loved. We appreciate that so much more than corporations owned renral properties that have no love or character to them. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! Our stay was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Well thought out extras and wonderful design outside and inside. The area is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the loons and the serenity of nature. If you want a place to get away and reset this is the place! Close enough to take day trips to Acadia, Bar Harbor, or Lubec. Also enough to keep you entertained at the cottage so no need to leave!

The place is even more beautiful than the photos. Be prepared to drive for an hour plus to get to civilization but to us it was totally worth it.
The place was very clean, well supplied and comfortable. The lake is amazing and the grounds are well thought out and nicely done.

My partner and I had an amazing time at this home. The location was a big draw for us and did not disappoint. The home, including the incredible outdoor space, was so calm and peaceful. The lake was beautiful, and we (and our dog!) enjoyed swimming and paddle boating on it. The hot tub was a great way to wind down, as was the indoor jacuzzi. The host, Gene, was very responsive and really ensured that the home had all that you need (just get groceries beforehand!). Loved our stay!

This rental was so quiet and peaceful. The pond was great for kayaking and fishing. There was plenty to do on site without needing to leave. The landscape and flowers were beautiful! Definitely bring what you need, as it is tucked away from stores and restaurants. Overall, this is a wonderful place to take your family for a few days to unwind.

The property is beautiful and the cottage was clean and well appointed. The area is so quiet and the color change just made it all the more amazing. The views were stunning. It was the perfect spot to spend the week in Maine, allowing us to travel to lots of areas including Acadia, hike and take in nature, and also enjoy a cup of coffee and drink in the restorative peace of Long Pond and the surrounding woods. The perfect trip!

Very private yard with beautiful view. I would visit again. I was not prepared for no tv (just DVD) but it was so nice didn't miss it. otherwise the house was well equipped and modern. Very comfortable and clean. Yard is full of chipmunks. Bring some unsalted nuts and snacks for them!

House is really nice and the location on the prestine lake is great.
Property manager couldn't have been more accommodating. And the fishing wasn't bad... Will definitely come back here. Just note it s 23 miles to the nearest Dunkins, so bring your coffee!

My husband and I started coming to Maine 10 years ago on our Honeymoon and fell in love with it. Since then we’ve come back almost every year with our kids, staying at all different vacation rentals. I have to say, although we’ve never had a bad experience, this lake house by far was the best! Everything about it was perfect for us. The house itself was so much like a home, with everything you could ever need for the week. It’s so beautifully decorated and comfortable. The outside was absolutely amazing with the lake and all the outdoor seating. We had so much fun fishing, paddling around on the peddle boat and raft. My favorite part was listening to all the loons. There were so many of them on this lake! You really don’t even need to leave. We did go to Schoodic point to go hiking and see the less crowded part of Acadia - which was maybe an hour drive. We are big hikers so we also hiked Chick Hill (the real hiking trail - not the road) for our second time. Mariaville falls is right down the street from this house which we found a few years ago and it is so beautiful there! A short hike to the falls with lots of fish and a little swimming hole for the kids.
One of the best parts of this home is the owner, Gene. He was so helpful and on top of everything. He loves his property so much and you can tell he really cares to make it just as enjoyable for others. Thank you so much for sharing this home!
