Stayed Sept. 2025 in this home in excellent location near SoCo. An older home with modern kitchen and bath upgrades and minor issues such as patio door to porch did not lock, faucets loose, no closet rods, queen br mattress needs replaced, several lights not working. A complete interior repaint would add much to the unit. The screen porch was a nice bonus. Overall a good place to stay. Completing the finishing touches would make it excellent. Would stay here again.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Pros: safe neighborhood, good location, nice screened-in porch to enjoy fresh air without bugsCons: poorly maintained, dishwasher overflowed onto the floors, extremely cheap towels and bedding, no rugs or carpet on any of the floors, laundry room was in a dirty back closet, and we had to kill a roach! The iron in the vrbo stained a dress with a gross brown goo that came out of it after heating up. Not the quality stay I'd expect from a VRBO. Shame as this is a great location with enough space for 4-6 people to stay comfortably
Clean convenient location quiet neighborhood. We traveled north of Austin to Krause springs one day and south to San Marcos river the next day. Perfect location to travel the area. Nice home to cook relax and visit with friends.
Thank you.
We enjoyed our stay and found several things that made the experience comfortable and enjoyable, along with a few areas that could be improved.Positives:The location is great and the neighborhood is very quiet, which made for a peaceful stay. The layout of the house is nice and functional, and the beds were very comfortable. All basic cooking utensils were available, which made meal prep easy. The cooling system works perfectly, and the hot water gets very hot, which was a big plus.Negatives:There were no hanging rods in any of the clothes so nowhere to hang clothes. There was no iron to use; however, there was an ironing board. Additionally, there were several old and worn outdoor furniture pieces that made them unsafe to use. Suggestions:Adding throw blankets would increase comfort in shared spaces. Bathroom floor mats or towels for stepping out of the shower would be helpful.Overall, this is a nice property with strong potential. With a few thoughtful additions, it would make for an excellent stay.
The house was accommodating for our family as it had two master bedrooms which worked well, however one of the king mattress's desperately needs to be replaced! :(
It was so broken down that the sides were splayed, and I felt like I had to crawl out of a hole just to get out of it.
We very much enjoyed the screened patio as it gave us extra room for meals at the dining table.
The location was nice and convenient and we enjoyed walks around the neighborhood.
Every night when i went to bed i slept as good as i do at my own home. Every bit of it felt comforting. The AC was amazing! But becareful it had a 68 temp programmed for the night after 930 i would switch it back to my temp. Stand up shower was great, had good pressure. Unfortunately we did not use the sceened in area. But the few minutes i was outside was nice. Would stay here again in the future. I would mention that i only seen one fire alarm. I did see the brackets but the alarms were missing. The tub seemed to be a little clogged. We got a lot of rain on our stay, so walking out the water would fall right on our heads from the door canopy, i would recommend putting a gutter or some type of water catch to divert the water to the sides. Overal great location less than 10 minute drive to restaurants, stores, gas, etc
The place was at a great location for wanting to see a concert downtown. Easy check in but never got an email until the day before. I had to call and ask for the address and check in process. They sent me an email right away after I called. When we got there notice no rugs in the bathroom or anywhere actually. Which I understand hard to keep clean when renting. With that said, definitely should have at least one in the bathroom so people don’t slip and fall getting out of the shower. We used towels to put on the floor so we wouldn’t slip and fall. Not one closet had a rod to hang clothes on. The kitchen had the very bare minimum supplies. Not even a cookie sheet pan. We used foil to reheat some food in the oven. They supplied the cheapest TP possible and bare minimum hand towels and wash clothes. Had to do a load of laundry because of this. Thankfully the place was very clean.
The house is centrally located within minutes from South Congress in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is well stocked and extremely clean. Communication with the hosts is easy and they are very responsive. We will stay there again when we’re back in Austin
This is a great house. Very nicely decorated, beds and pillows were high quality. Great location to downtown Austin and the Circuit of America’s track. Would definitely stay here again.
Property is close to all the good bars and restaurants. House is well maintained, with excellent amenities (Fiber internet, air conditioning, TVs in multiple rooms.) and the sun room was an excellent place to hang out with the friends. Great experience overall.
Comfortably slept 6 people, was in a good location and private. Was a bit annoying that, for the money, there were little to no amenities provided. There was no coffee, toiletries for bathing, the toilet seat was disconnected, and the trash can was stuffed full of the previous renter's trash. Communication was very impersonal and automated as well. This was my first Vrbo experience and im a bit mixed on it.
This stay was very disappointing. Although the house was in a great location, and the layout was really good, there were so many maintenance things that were overlooked and annoying-* No hanging bars in 2 of the 3 closets. I noticed this was commented on 2 years ago!! And still not fixed- why?* Broken faucet in kitchen, and loose faucet in bathroom. Cleaners must’ve noticed that!* Water to fridge not hooked up, so no water or ice, and no ice cube trays.* Slider to screen porch would’nt lock, even after maintenance guy came out.*Toilet paper holder falling off in bathroom. Again, that was in a previous review and still not fixed.* Although I appreciate having basic condiments available, there was a used jar of peanut butter in the cabinet- gross!I learned this property management company owns about 50 houses in the area. Maybe have fewer and maintain the ones you have. I am a 5 star host on this platform, and running a business the way Grand Welcome Rentals Austin does is a shame. Clearly, it’s just about the bottom line, and not about hospitality. But companies like that don’t care.
Older home, location was great but overall not a fan and it felt bare minimum. Toiletries were a nice touch and you can tell there's been remodeling. Kitchen and bathrooms were nice, but if expecting to prepare a meal, not enough to do it. Might as well order in.
It's managed by a property company that oversees other properties in other states. Keep your expectations low. Worked for crashing after a long day of work.
Pros:
- Great location. 8 min drive Downtown Austin and 5 min drive to South Congress
- AC/Heat worked Great
- Laundry
- Pricing
- If you can get property manager to directly text you, that helped the experience in the home
Cons:
- Not responsive via app, must call (which wrong number with an extra digit available and had to sleuth for actual number. Hopefully they updated)
- No clear check-in or check-out details were sent (wrong code to get in, told me to look for lockbox, couldn't find and then found later behind the house)
- Yard was unkept not like in photos.
- The toilet roll broke the first time I used, the plastic off the lock (from the inside) fell off.
- No closet space to hang
- Random trash in front yard, unclear where they came from
- Pretty sure my bed was broken, but it was comfortable!
If you're just crashing and want AC/Heat, electric, TV and running water, this works. Just don't expect too much.
