I didn't like that Expedia's description of the property's amenities didn't match my experience at the property. Expedia listed the hotel as having an indoor pool and the hotel's pool was out of service (it was empty with no signage as to why).

One of the guests arrived 30 minutes prior to 3 PM, the advertised check-in time. The front desk checked them in, but never informed them about a $15 early check in fee. At checkout, we explained the situation and had we known about the charge, we would have waited 30 minutes to check in. They were inflexible, never apologized and would not remove the charge. Never supporting this brand again!

The actual stay was fine, but the pickup from the airport by the shuttle service was horrible. We were told to go outside in freezing temperatures and wait for the shuttle with no indication of when it would come. After a phone call, we were then told 10-15 minutes. After 25 minutes the front desk told us that the driver was on his way and would be there any minute. After 40 minutes the front desk told us they were talking to the driver and to just continue waiting. We finally jumped in with another hotel shuttle and found our way to the Hyatt to see the driver just sitting in front of the hotel in view of the front desk.

I stayed at Hyatt for the first time while going to Baltimore. I always used Best Western or Hilton. It wasn't that I preferred these hotels for any particular reason other than familiarity. That having been said I made an overnsight about my booking. The GM @ BFI Baltimore Hyatt was more than effective at coming up with a swift solution. Problem solved. As a result myself and my grown son had a well deserved weekend to bond and enjoy the city of Baltimore as well. I highly recommend this Hyatt not just for the personal touch of management but the overall light hearted temperament of the entire staff. My conversing with them was of pleasant nature along with smiles. It wasn't forced it was sincere. I also have some prior managerial experience so I know the work it takes getting staff to work together as a team. Whatever training that transpires upon hiring is highly effective. I give this hotel 5 stars in all categories. I am going to patronize there once again upon my return to Baltimore area. Bravo MsBravo 😁

Only one of the two elevators worked, and it was slow and spotty. AC in my room was not working or responsive. Overall property is pretty rundown.

Thank you for your feedback. Being a legacy hotel is something this hotel takes pride in. However that means we are one of the oldest Hyatt Places in the country with the conditions to match. We are excited for our upcoming renovations to make some wonderful upgrades! We hope to see you next time!

BWI Hyatt not up to Hyatt Standards
The staff at Hyatt was lovely although the hotel is not up to Hyatt standards. I had to be moved since the dead bolt didn’t work and only one elevator was working. Stains on carpet in rooms and hallways. The night manager who changed my room was helpful and indicated this Hyatt was going to be refurbished soon

Front desk attendant was not at the desk when I arrived and instead was sitting in the lobby area socializing. When she finally came over to check me in, she seemed irritated. I was charged $100 for “incidentals.” The room was rundown and I had to be moved since the tub would not drain. Overall, really shabby condition of the property itself and would not stay here again.

The young man who checked me in was great. The latch on my room door was broken. He had no problem seitching me ti another room to assure my safety. Complimentary breakfast is also always a great ameninity.

The breakfast they provide is terrible. The room was a bit dirty. My son dropped his sock and I look for it under the bed and it looks like Knowone had ever vacuumed under there and it was gross. The beds were so uncomfortable. I probably won’t be staying at a Hyatt anymore.

We offer scrambled eggs with toppings to make breakfast burritos, yogurt, fruit, hot and cold cereal, pancakes or waffles. I am sorry this was not to your liking and wish we could speak about this while you were here. We are always looking for ways to improve. We are under new management and ownership and are looking forward to our future renovations this year! We hope you give us another chance in the future.

My first room was dirty and the bed was unmade. The gentleman at the desk however was very apologetic about it and immediately found a new room for me. My second room was fine, very kind staff.

No basic amenities
There were no vending machines, the variety that the hotel had for sale was limited. None of the coffee machine worked I had to Uber coffee. No one ever came to change my trash or linen I had to ask for new things anc still never came and got the old stuff

Oh no! I am sorry that the coffee machine didnt work. Sometimes our guests get stuck with this because the tray is in the coffee pod packet. We have a 24 hour Starbucks bistro in the lobby. I wish we could have made you a delicious latte! Hyatt has not restored daily cleaning. We are still on a limited schedule unless other wise requested. I hope we can assist you in the future better.

They should be embarrassed to call that place a Hyatt! And 3 stars is definitely a stretch! Only one luggage cart for entire hotel, carpet stains everywhere, only 1 of the 2 elevators worked,and it was sketchy to say the least! Won't even get into the room which needs updated immediately, and the shower door was missing! And the terrible experience ended early because the entire hotel went black with no powet!!!! And no emergency lights in the hallway at all, pitch black! Did I mention it was 4 A M.! We just loaded up our stuff with the flashlights from our phones and left early out of fear! Will never return again, and deserve a full refund!!!!

I am sorry this was your experience of the hotel. With a power outage it does sound scary. Sadly it was not just our hotel and I am sorry this occurred. We do have an emergency lighting but due to the prior power outage they did not have the full time to recharge. I do recommend contacting Expedia for a refund. The hotel does not have your funds to release them back to you? We are under new management and ownership and will be making the necessary changes to reflect the Hyatt standards you are accustomed too. I wish it was as easy as flipping a light switch but some things are out of the hotels control. Thank you again for staying with us!

Neighboring Hilton would have been a better hotel stay than, “blast from the past” at Hyatt Place. Oh, they don’t clean rooms unless requested. No notice given about poor property condition or limited services.

Thank you for your review! Booking on 3rd party sites you will not get the same information that you would receive from the brand or the hotel directly. We are due for renovations and have been since before covid. We are under new ownership and management and will be making the necessary changes to reflect Hyatt's standards.
