Acadia National Park is just minutes away from this ocean front cottage. Visit there for hiking, biking and driving the park loop road then return to the quiet peacefulness of Western Bay. There is a great beach for swimming, kayaking or just searching for shells, sea glass or watching the seals swim in the bay.
Groceries are 15 min away in Ellsworth. Shopping is 20 min. away in Bar Harbor and Schoodic Point is an hour up the coast if you want to explore more coast line.

Our stay at the property was fantastic. Unbelievable panoramic view of Mt Desert from inside the home as well as the properties beach. Home had all of the amenities we needed and everything was modern and clean. Great sense of privacy. Enjoyed meeting the property owners who lived near by but never infringed on our privacy. Very accommodating and confirmed we could have a little fire on the beach as long as we let the tide come on and put it out which we did. Would definitely plan to come back and stay again. Thanks Bob and Emily (and Henry)!

Perfect property for a relaxing Maine getaway! Tons of shoreline for the kids to explore, beautiful views from the house, close to Acadia, but without the crowds. No TV, and the kids could have cared less! Heads up, there is also no washer/dryer, which I neglected to notice in the listing, but there is a great laundromat in Ellsworth with WiFi and in a strip mall with a grocery store, so go stock up and do laundry if you’re there for more than a few days! (Eden Laundry) Homeowners are outstanding. They were kind enough to check in with us, were great with our kids, and let us know they were around if we needed them, but we never felt like they encroached on our privacy. Would absolutely recommend for any couples or families with kids! Family of five, it would be a great spot for up to five people! Outstanding!

We enjoyed a wonderful week of relaxing on the deck overlooking the bay and Cadillac Mountain, kayakingwith porpoises and seals nearby, and taking in the surrounding areas of Mt. Desert Island, Blue Hill, and downtown Ellsworth. The cottage is modern, clean and comfortable affording quiet privacy. Emily is a warm and welcoming host. Highly recommend this property.

The property has gorgeous ocean and mountain views. The cottage was very clean with modern updates. Perfect place to stay when visiting Acadia and/or Bailey’s Harbor. It offered a quiet retreat from those busier places while still being a quick drive away.

Great place for families!
Our family had an amazing time here. The cottage is spacious and clean, and the views of the bay are incredible (and we saw a few seals swimming by). Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place and location!
The cottage was in a private area yet easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor! The cleanliness was very much appreciated! The beach just steps from the back door allowed kids to go and walk along the beach. Lovely place inside and out!

Perfect cottage
My family had a wonderful time visiting Maine and staying in this lovely cottage. The view was breathtaking and felt so peaceful! Only 20 minutes from all the things…which to me was perfect!!! The place was clean and had everything we needed!!! Host was so accommodating and very communicative! She recommended some great local food places which my family loved!

Magical
Our family of four just LOVED this property. It was our first trip to Maine and we are hooked! This cottage is warm and inviting and simply breathtaking. We had so much fun exploring the beach during low tide and searching for sea shells. We were sad to leave, but cannot wait to come back!

Seaside Cottage
The cottage was perfect for a couple. It's very peaceful and quiet, loved being able to eat breakfast next to the ocean each morning and the drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor is so short. You are good distance away from anything you need and still have the tranquility of nature.
