I would say this is an average hotel. It fit our needs and was located close to where we needed to be. Had a very nice elderly woman check us in and she was very pleasant. The room was clean, nice size, and spacious. The water pressure was terrible in the sink as well as the shower. The beds were clean and comfortable. We don’t have much going one morning so we slept in and placed the appropriate placard on the door to let the cleaning service know. However, around 10:30 there was a very loud knock on the door, twice, then the door opened. Thankfully we had the throw over security latch applied. I closed the door, undid the latch, then opened it and saw a plain clothes, no uniform, black man claiming to be maintenance attempting to get into our room. He said he needed to apply some caulk around the shower. I told him my wife was in the shower and he looked through some paperwork, mumbled something then walked away. I’m guessing he really was part of maintenance because we saw him later working around the hotel. Probably should have some type of uniform or displayed credentials indicating who he is, especially if he’s going to disregard the “do not disturb” placard hanging on the door and attempt to enter the rooms. The breakfast was good and plentiful with something for everyone. Nice selection of fruit. We’d probably stay there again but will most definitely make sure the throw over security latch is used when we’re in our room.
