My experience at this hotel was mixed. The location is convenient and the price was reasonable for what was offered. I would also like to highlight that, aside from one specific incident, the staff was generally very helpful, especially the women at the front desk, who were always friendly and accommodating.
The main issue occurred when we requested an extra pillow. We were a group of five, but there were only three pillows available. The maintenance staff member who brought the pillow was extremely rude. He knocked on the door, said something in Mandarin, and delivered the pillow in a very aggressive manner, practically throwing it at my mother-in-law. The situation was upsetting enough that my father-in-law, who speaks Mandarin, went to the front desk to file a complaint.
Another issue was a strong urine smell in the hallway on the first day. At first, I thought it was a cleanliness problem, but I later realized there was a traditional squat toilet nearby and that some guests were not using the facilities properly. In this case, I do not believe the hotel was at fault. I also noticed that, despite the hotel's no-smoking policy, some guests appeared to be smoking in their rooms, as I woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke on my last day.
Overall, the hotel offers a good location, fair pricing, and an attentive front desk team. However, better enforcement of hotel rules and improved staff training would help create a more pleasant experience for guests.
