「The building is old (!), so the rooms are high ceiling and large. The decoration is highly original and eclectic. Our room was ready on time and well appointed and clean and comfortable. We dined in on our first night. The meal wassail good and tasty, although there was a limited menu not he night. 「The Ship is in a quiet country lane 2 minutes from a fabulous beach. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was really lovely, the bed so comfortable and ours had a beautiful view across the fields. We had dinner which was delicious too. A really peaceful place to stay.」

「Lovely big bedroom with comfortable bed. Our hosts were friendly. A wide choice of breakfast items. The hotel is very conveniently situated for the seafront and South Lowestoft. Parking was easy and free on the street outside However the weather was poor so if more people were at the beach it might have been more difficult. The carpark is tight opposite though and only £4 for the whole day. Our one criticism would be - no shelf in the shower for toiletries. A very pleasant stay. 」

「Our third stay at the Old Ram and, as before, we found the staff friendly and welcoming. The meals we had in the restaurant were delicious and the staff were attentive to our needs. The Old Ram is an ideal place to stay for a visit to Norwich and the surrounding area.」

「Hotel is older style, with large room. I was particularly impressed with the modernisation of the ensuite and very modern techno shower. Good size enclosed walk in shower and decent water temperature. I dined as a party of 8 in the bar area, food was very good and decent choice on the menu. Staff very helpful and made lockable arrangements for my cycle overnight. I took advantage of the 6.30am breakfast start which was excellent and good choice on the menu. No real downside experienced.」

「I spent 3 nights and overall had an enjoyable stay. The room was a good size, very clean, and the bed very comfy. Only slight disappointment was that the advertised fridge was not in the room; I was expecting this to keep drinks cold and for packed lunches. Check in was done online and very easy. Whilst this was quick and efficient it meant the personal touch was lacking and I did not see anyone else during my stay.
