The property is a beautiful old hotel, but you can tell they are having a hard time keeping it up. The rooms are big and cozy at the same time, the beds comfortable but the bathroom had some ventilation issues and therefore was a little moldy. While the pool was great, it was a shame the sauna was not working. All in all a nice stay though.

We loved this hotel, really nice amenities, great rooms. I wish we had planned less activities and spent more time at the hotel. If you want to stay in the hotel, plan to spend a day in the hotel. Breakfast ends at 11 and bar closes at around 10 depending on crowd.

I think it is one of those properties that your experience depends on where you stay. The hotel is a historic hotel with sash windows and little in the way of sound proofing. We were in the Orvis Inn and had a room next to the road at the front of the building. As such it was loud and drafty. There was no sound proofing in the room and you could hear every step of the people above. We were due to stay five nights and left after three. I think the final straw was a dog in the room above barking for an hour from 12.30 to 1.30 in the morning. We had breakfast on the first day and never went back again. We sat in the garden at the back of the hotel and it was idyllic. So as I say I think the experience depends on where they put you and if there is any soundproofing!

We have attempted to communicate with management several times to no avail. They were drastically understaffed. We were told there was not enough staff to help with our bags because they were focused on helping a tour bus that would be arriving soon. We witnessed a waitress being berated by a guest asking for management support to no avail. We were unable to get in our room for over an hour because the keys did not work and they had to call someone in to help... they list goes on and on. The outside of the property was beautiful. They were out of many things in the restaurant including food, specials, and drinks. The interior was missing sections of wallpaper, water damage was evident on our walls and ceiling. Still waiting for a call from management.

Beautiful resort with spacious rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the historical architecture and ambiance. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We only wish that the hot tub stayed open later (it was closed at 8:30 pm). The restaurant was too dark and dull looking ( could have used better lighting and more color). The food was delicious!

I’ve stayed here before and I’m glad I returned. The staff is friendly. I ate dinner at the bar after a long day. The filet was cooked as requested and the asparagus was fresh. I made use of the pool the following morning. My stay was perfect.
