Perfect Location for your Beach/Lake MI stay! You'll Love This Beautiful Home!
All completely renovated in 2021 & still looks brand new, this private home in the small community of Sunset Shores is next to the Marina. These three blocks of homes are nestled right by Lake Michigan and have their own private beach accesses for your use. They are perfect to watch a sunset or skip stones. The public beach is about a half mile walk away and is great for building sand castles, splashing in the lake or climbing the stairs through the dunes.
This one level ranch has three bedrooms; two bedrooms each with a queen and one with a set of twin bunks. There are two full bathrooms, one as an ensuite to the master bedroom and an additional full bath in the main hallway. The whole home was remodeled in 2021 and offers all the finest amenities. There is a W/D, D/W, C/A, WIFI, smart TV's to watch your favorite shows in the evening, front patio, outdoor back patio, gas grill and a firepit to sit after a long day of exploring the area or being at the beach.
This is the perfect home for a small family or two or three couples. Close to town and the beach. You can walk to everything and not have to worry about parking. Enjoy the many shops & restaurants that you can walk to in town. The marina is out your front door so plan a day to rent a boat or a jet ski from Oselka Marina and have a real lake experience.
Many people find Dockside Retreat to be a great place to stay while in the area visiting the many wineries & distilleries.
It also provides a welcoming place to stay when in the area for a fall Notre Dame football game.
For those coming for more of the nightlife the Four Winds Casino is about two miles away and there is a shuttle right outside Docksides door that can pick you up and bring you home. The Stray Dog offers rooftop drinks for 21 and over where you can sit and watch the sunset over the harbor.
Dockside Retreat seems to have the best Harbor Country has to offer and we'd love to welcome you to come stay with us.

My family of four enjoyed the location of this rental. So close to town and across the street to the Bentwood Tavern restaurant. We brought back to the house an awesome breakfast one morning. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the entire property. We felt very comfortable and at home during our stay. Look forward to visiting this rental again!

Location is everything when looking at rentals and this home did not disappoint! Walking distance to the heart of downtown New Buffalo. Host had great communication and check in/out process was very easy. Located by all the restaurants, shops and beach. Listing description and pictures was spot on to what we walked into upon arrival. Will try and stay here again. Thanks again for the hospitality and clean home!

We've stayed here multiple times and it's always nice. The house is clean and well stocked. We love taking advantage of the firepit for smores. We love to location - walking distance to town for coffee in the morning and ice cream after dinner! It is walking distance to the beach, but if you have kids (and all the things), I recommend driving.

Great New Buffalo house!
This house is fantastic for a new buffalo stay with everything you need for a great trip. The house is clean and well equipped. It has all the beach essentials, outdoor touches like grill, chairs and fire pit plus a very comfortable layout. The location is the only thing that could have been better but that’s outside of the control of the property manager. Even though it’s close in proximity to the new buffalo beach and the downtown area, the neighborhood isn’t walkable. There are no sidewalks or pedestrian crossroads and it’s a bit dangerous specially if you are walking with kids. The yard also isn’t fenced in and spills into the main road. Again just a watch out if you are staying with kids. Other than the location, the house is great and well managed!

Girls Trip
We loved staying at this property! The location was perfect and walkable to most main New Buffalo attractions (downtown restaurants/bars, Four Winds casino shuttle, sailing excursion, etc.) The property was also well stocked with the essentials (coffee pods/creamer, shampoo/conditioner, fire wood, etc.) and very clean. Would definitely stay here again!

We visited New Buffalo for a girls retirement weekend. We had six women staying the house. It was perfect! The house is immaculate and filled with all of the ammenities from coffee supplies to fire starters and beach towels. It is very close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We did not walk but you definitely could.

Perfect Fall Getaway
This property was exactly what we were looking for! The open floor plan and beautiful fire pit made for the perfect fall weekend - just a 10-15min walk to the beach/city center. We plan to stay again!

Perfect Weekend Getaway
This property was perfect for our family with two toddlers to explore New Buffalo with the convenience of having a home right in town. We are so glad that we decided to stay here. The home itself is very clean, updated, and comfortable, and the hosts have most every amenity that you could ever need available to you. We loved having the backyard space for our little ones to run around in and the campfire to have s’mores. We were able to easily walk downtown and to the beach, meaning we really didn’t have to drive anywhere all weekend, which is a major plus when you have two toddlers. Thank you John & Jean for such a great weekend! We will most certainly be back

Little gem of a rental!
This was our first trip to New Buffalo. First of all, the town is charming and beautiful. Second, John and Jean’s home was a perfect stop for our group of 6. Very easy to live in and the location is ideal for walking around the marina and into town. Lovely!

Great beach house
We love staying here! Plenty of space for our family. It’s clean and comfortable, with everything we need. Walkable to downtown for coffee or ice cream. You could walk to the beach, but if you have lots of kid stuff, I recommend driving.
