This is an exquisite place. The rooms are magnificent, the view to die for. Unfortunately we chose a weekend when there was a private event on which rather spoiled the 'get away from it all feeling'. Happily for anyone reading this, I think private events are rare but do check before booking

Our stay at Firefly was AMAZING! Our room has impeccably kept and clean. We had an amazing view of the valley and ocean from our balcony. I would recommend this place to stay over and over again! Dinner was always delicious and the staff was so friendly. The only draw back is that you need to take a taxi to the other side of the island (only about 10 minutes, about $10-15USD depending on which beach) to go to any of the beaches, but not a reason to not stay at this amazing resort. The tour of the grounds was so fun and we got to try some many types of fruits! 10/10 stars!!!!

Nice property, not over priced; worth the cost for nice relaxation in a manicure room. Beautiful scenery from the terrace; Husband and I will certainly be returning in the near near future!!

The Firefly estate has amazing staff, Melissa, LesleyAnn and Ezra made my stay at the firefly incredible, they are friendly, approachable, helpful and super efficient. LesleyANn cooking is amazing and I highly recommend the Chicken curry with roti. The hotel is beautiful surrounded nature, tranquil and peaceful. I stayed in two different room I prefer the upper floor but both rooms was beautiful, spacious, extremely comfortable beds, private terrace and all amenities to make for s fantastic stay. I highly recommend Firefly Estate and my stay was perfect and I will return

Highly recommend! Firefly Estate Bequia is such a calming and magical place. The grounds are clean, well maintained and surrounded by beautiful trees. The room was spotless, large, and had a welcoming aroma. We were definitely impressed by the room fixtures. We can tell that special care goes into cleaning and maintaining the rooms and property. The balcony is also considerably spacious with exceptional views. We were assisted by staff member Judith, who greeted us on late arrival and was extremely accommodating. Will definitely return.

Would have been rated a 5 except for the restaurant service. The server was good but based on her replies to our questions as to why there was an hour delay in getting our food it seems that if we ordered an appetizer we then had to wait until everyone else who didn’t have an appetizer had been fed. We waited an hour for the rest of our meal and watched as everyone who entered the restaurant after us was fed before us. Didn’t make sense

Terrible service but nice place

What you'll get is a gorgeous room that is the perfect place to relax during your time in Bequia. What you won't get, is service to match the beautiful room, there is almost a feeling of disdain shown towards guests.

Huge room in a tucked away location with a beautiful view of the landscape and water without being right on the water. The restaurant / bar / hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. All of our meals and drinks were top notch. It was a nice surprise being greeted every day by the adorable plantation dogs. Make sure to get a plantation tour, relax by the pool, explore the large lush grounds and get a few good meals at the restaurant. Other beachside activities are a quick taxi ride away into port Elizabeth. We had an amazing time and are sure you will too ☺️

5 star hotel in a beautiful setting

We have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this hotel was one of the most perfect of any we have stayed in before. the rooms were amazingly comfortable and the attention to details, first class. The restaurant served amazing food all cooked with local ingredients cooked by an amazing chef. The waiting staff and bar staff very efficient and all with a smile. the setting is so peacefully, heaven!

Fantastisches Hotel

Man wird sehr freundlich begrüßt. Das Frühstück und die Abendessen sind sehr zu empfehlen - es war immer sehr lecker. Bis in die Stadt und die Strände dort sind es ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Zimmer und der Ausblick von den Balkonen sind überwältigend. Lohnend ist die Führung über die Plantage. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

You almost forget thinking....about anything!

Bequia is special as it doesn't desire to be anything other than what it is. That's saying something in a world which wants what it thinks it wants. Firefly sits in a hillside...yes, the stairs do take some getting used to but the rewards are manifold...breezes, privacy, personal attention, delicious food, slow pace, happy faces, ......

Good Hotel But Not Good Beach

The hotel itself was great. The room was nice and comfortable and the staffs were nice and friendly. Only thing is that there were too many mosquitoes there and repellent didn't work well. Also the beach close to the hotel was not good for swimming.

Beautiful hotel & property

Although it started with a couple of reservation errors, after a fair amount of time on the phone Expedia did take care of things. I travelled with my mom & sister and was clear to note three people during the booking process. Please note that the third person does have an additional cost (it doesn't say that anywhere on Expedia's site). Once we got past that our check in and everything moving forward was fantastic. The property is beautiful... It is a taxi ride away from town and the good beaches though. There's a great deal of walking you can do, and I recommend a walk to the turtle sanctuary. The staff is amazing, you're greeted on arrival with a much needed cold drink (with a hibiscus in it, of course). The rooms are stunning and if I ever have the opportunity to design my own bathroom facilities it will be just like the Firefly. Double sinks, double showers and doors that open on to your private patio. The room itself is quite big with plenty of room for three people to move around (and lounge). We had breakfast each morning (wonderful)! We only had dinner the first night there, it was very good but definitely pricey, which is to be expected being that it's a hotel restaurant. There's also a nice pool, which I only dipped my toes in but it made for a wonderful evening of reading in my little cabana.

Exceptional place

Exquisite hotel with a fascinating history, situated in a wonderful plantation. Stylish large rooms with a lot of attention to detail. Good pool. Highly professional and very friendly staff (with one peculiarly rude exception) that made us feel like visiting good friends. Really nice complimentary tour of the plantation. Great food! All in all an outstanding experience - and one we want to return to. One of the best hotels we ever stayed at (and we have tried a lot).

a special treat!

firefly is a little bit outside of town, but that was just fine with us! it's up on hill, you get lovely breezes at night. The hotel is really clean and well maintained and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The restaurant is wonderful. Highly recommend!
