Extended family weekend getaway

Great home for 14 of us to get away together! It was a beautiful spot in the fall with lots to do including a pool, hot tub and game room!

Totally Recommend

Had a great weekend at this property. Secluded location. The game room was a lot of fun and the hot tub was very relaxing. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because the grill was rusted out, dirty, and unusable. Not really a big problem if we had known prior, but we bought a lot of food for grilling which went to waste. Overall, would totally book again.

As advertised

The home was clean but in need of TLC somethings in the bathrooms were broken. Pool liner was ripped and seems to be leaking somewhere. The hot tub was never serviced so the water stank and couldn’t be used. The water in general smelt like sulfur. Could have been fixed if the water softener was filled and working. But other then that we had a great time the fire pit was awesome and the swings in the back of the shed are very comfortable.

Bachelor Party

The property was the perfect space for many out of town friends to meet and make a "home base" just outside ocean city. Great central space to travel into town, go to golf, or other activities. Plenty of parking for friends staying elsewhere in town to stop by. The pool was beautiful and the bar/barn was a great addition. The grill worked great and never had any issues. The only trouble we had was the wi-fi was not working, however we did not need the internet much anyway. Would recommend for bachelor parties or family gatherings.

July 7th birthday vacation

As a frequent vacationer this place was wonderful! It is often times hard to find a place that works for all my guests that we all have a place to sleep. This house was perfect with the many options of places to rest your head. It sadly rained a bit during my trip however the house had many thing we could do when we couldn’t slip over to the beach. As for cleanliness there were some minor issues but it’s but considering the quick turn over from previous guest to us it was well worth looking past. Overall they helped make my birthday vacation a wonderful time!

Spring Golf Trip

Bachelor Party

The house and property were incredible for my bachelor party weekend. My group loved the game-shed and the yard. Plenty of room for cornhole and other backyard games. I would stay here again for sure.

Great Exprience

The house was accented by the location. Very Private out of the way. This is what we were looking for. The house was clean and very comfortable. We were a little disappointed with water softener( no salt inside so we bought 2 bags and placed in and it cleared the smell up. There was also a disappointment with the Gas grill, VERY DIRTY. I would love to rent this home again in the future. The owners have a very nice home in the country. We would recommend this home for someone looking for home away from home. Russ

House needs updated

The house was beautiful and laid out well. Sadly, it needed some tlc. Paint was peeling, pool table had a tear, lining of pool was ripped in multiple places water for showers smelled of sulfer and took forever to get hot. I was a little disappointed for what I spent. I just realized that the house is for sale so maybe that is why they are not putting any money into maintaining it.

As advertised

House is exactly as advertised in the pictures. Game room/Bar is an incredible space. The hot water heater does not work. There appears to be an issue with the water system/septic as all water smells like sweage inside the house (all bathroom faucets including showers and kitchen sink). Also there will be appliances and installers interrupting your stay with no prior notice.

Pool very disappointing.

Main reason for renting here was for the pool. It was dirty. Pump not working. Had to run a hose into the pool due to a leak. Had to buy a net to try and clean out bugs in pool. Net that was there was broken. Called and asked for someone to come for the pool. He came and cleaned it some and added chemicals but it was never cleaned completely. Owner cut the grass while we were there which made for a lot more grass blowing into the pool. I will say the inside of the house was not bad considering it was after the busy summer season. Some things needed some TLC but that was expected. Door to washer and dryer kept coming off track. Door handle to shower was broken. No handle on freezer door on the refrigerator. Pool table was in terrible condition. Rips in it and pool cues had no tips on the end. I probably would not rent again unless I had assurances that these issues were addressed.

Great place for families

Loved the house and amenities, plus the location was perfect for the beach or quiet nights in. The kids loved the pool and the grown ups loved the hot tub. Everyone enjoyed the rec room, fire pit, and hammocks. If you are planning a stay, bring toilet paper (they only left a partial roll of 1-ply in each bathroom), hand soap (all the sinks had dispensers but they were empty), paper towels, and dishwasher and laundry tabs/detergent (for our dual-family week-long get-away the couple tabs of each they supplied for us were no where near enough). Honestly, the lack of consumable supplies didn't even bother us. The reason for only 4 stars was the water. It was super smelly, like copper/iron/rust. The property runs on a well system. The water tasted awful and you could smell it and taste it on the dishes, when brushing your teeth, in your hair, and on your clothes. We had to buy a ton of water just to rinse our cups, drink clean water, and brush our teeth. The kids needed a bath desperately but the water was literally yellow-orange. No amount of shampoo can make up for that. I hope they fix the water issue because we otherwise loved the place. Overall, great place, great fun, great memories… not-so-great water.

Fantastic Rental!

Loved everything about this property! The location, space and all the amenities made this a perfect getaway for a girls weekend! It had everything we needed. From the kitchen to the bar area! Could not ask for anything more. We will be back Brooklyn's Refuge!

Friends and Family Getaway

We had a great stay at this property. It actually had amenities that weren't listed. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot tub, and the outdoor pool was a fantastic size for our group of 16 people. We didn't do much cooking while we were there but the kitchen was well-stocked. The living area was nice and well thought out to have large group gatherings and well as having little nooks to have some quiet time. The remote location was perfect for a group and the drive to the Ocean City Boardwalk was an easy 15 minute drive with very little traffic.

Serene Getaway

I hosted a ladies retreat and there waa more than enough room for everyone to participate in the activities. We loved the location and the amenities. The property was prestine. There are 3 exquisite bedrooms downstairs, but if you have a number of guests with physical limitations that would keep them from climbing stairs to the upstairs accomodations, this is not the location for your event. A few things made the trip a little disappointing: there are only one roll toilet paper in each bathroom per stay (so bring extra); the "trash bins" do not exist and I spent the majority of the time (even in the early am hours) trying to get the correct answer about where "the trash bins" were. We did not want to put the trash outside where animals could get to it and be charged for it. We sat in thw house surrounded by trash because the responses back from Vacasa were "the bins are located somewhere on the property", "we'll have a local person come right over to assist" and the most interesting answer of them all, "they're on the property but they're usually hidden". Help arrived on the day we were leaving in the form of the lovely cleaning person who was unaware that we had a late checkout. The truth about the "hiden trash bins" is THERE ARE NONE.
