Southwest Harbor is a lively little town with some of the islands finest restaurants, galleries and shops as well as a true working waterfront where you can enjoy lobster cruises, sunset sails or take a ferry to one of the neighboring islands. The western areas of Acadia National Park (Echo Lake Beech, Long Pond and dozens of the best hikes and beach trails) are just 10 minutes away and Bar Harbor and the park loop road are 25 minutes drive. Or if you just want a peaceful retreat, you can work remotely with a sparkling view out your window. Explore the shore on a leisurely stroll. Kayak in the peaceful cove, or paddle further out to the open ocean on an adventurous whim. Then return to your private hideaway. There’s plenty to do inside, as well, with ping pong, games, puzzles, and a lovely screened-in porch that maximizes that spectacular view in comfort. Idyllic.

It is designed to provide a variety of common areas for being together while ensuring that, if one party wants to read while another plays ping pong, you have enough privacy — and quiet — to do both simultaneously. The living room features wall-to-wall windows to maximize the view, and includes a game table and plenty of comfortable seating. The dining room generously seats eight and has ready access to the screened-in porch.

The cottage is furnished with a nice mix of antiques and decorative touches unique to the area, while providing all of the comforts of home in a fully equipped kitchen, large dining area, full living room with bonus game table, screened-in porch, and separate recreational room and additional reading nook in addition to the bedrooms and baths. Outdoor spaces feature an oceanside patio with gas grille and beautiful view out to the cove and Blue Hill Bay beyond. And, of course, you have direct access to your own private stretch of Maine shore.

There is also a third level of living space on the ground floor, with a game room and comfortable seating area — perfect for separate recreation or quiet time. A ping pong table is also included, for entertainment on rainy days or a friendly tournament regardless of the weather.
