Our Stay at the Starlight Chalet

We had an amazing time, the house was everything it was advertised to be and more, in the time between our booking and the actual stay, they had added a pool! Excellent views and all the amenities, what more could you ask for?

My family and I loved our stay at the Starlight Chalet! The house is even more beautiful than in the photos. We loved the woodsy and relaxing atmosphere of the house and surrounding area. We especially loved the hot tub, fire pit, pool table, theatre room and the beautiful view from the back porch. We had a great time cooking in the gorgeous kitchen and spending time together at the large dining room table. All of the bedrooms were clean, spacious and comfortable - especially the winter wonderland room! The Vacation Alchemy team was very nice, accommodating and responsive. We had a wonderful time and we definitely plan to stay here again next time we're in the area.

Best VRBO in Maine!

This week my family of 4 stayed in this VRBO. I have a toddler (2 yrs) and an infant (11 months). It was very quiet and peaceful. The road does not have a street sign up yet so it was a little difficult to find at night. The entire chalet had the new house smell to it. It was very clean and organized. I absolutely was obsessed with the design and layout. The decor was great. The tables and certain areas of the house was not kid friendly but you can tell they definitely tried. There are retractable stairs on all the staircases and they provide a crib/highchair. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and cookware, as well as cleaning supplies. Everything was updated and in great condition. Very impressed and would certainly recommend to anyone I know and would definitely stay again! Views were gorgeous, big windows and doors. Very private and secluded.

The place itself was nice though it seemed a bit more like a gilded palace, when you looked around at the details many things seemed help together loosely (every single toilet paper holder rattled, many hooks were loose, etc). Many dishes were unclean yet placed in the cabinets, including a wine glass with a massive crack down it. Fruit flies were present the moment we entered the house. Had to trouble shoot getting the heating system for the hot tub to work with support over the phone after someone had come by unannounced to try to repair it. This one upset me the most, if you are going to drop by on a couple (especially one staying for a honeymoon) you are required to communicate that you will be on site first. I messaged support and let them know this was not ok, and that I needed to be notified beforehand, only to have someone come by again unannounced. The cherry on top was when we were leaving (check out was at 10am, we were walking out the door at 10:06am). I had the property management call not once but 4 times to let me know I needed to leave for the cleanup crew to get in, they left me voicemails 2 of the 4 times, the last of which I was already off site and I told them as much just for them to say ‘oh, sorry for the trouble then’ in broken English.The amenities themself were pretty good of the house, but I won’t book another property managed by vacation alchemy again.
