Beautifully equipped with high quality in every respect
Warm and welcoming with many special touches and excellent furnishings, crockery, glassware, linens and fully equipped food cupboards. Fresh flower arrange -ments in every room. Lovely quiet location with great view and close to all shops etc. The main problem for us (both 84 with arthritis and balance issues) was steps between rooms and a big drop between the 2 living areas without a proper hand rail. Uneven drops from different levels of the decks outside too. However, we managed it reasonably and will very probably return, it was so nice!

Beach gem
Beautiful property and gardens with views of the water . Short walk to everything you need. Close to the beach and town . I didn’t want to leave . Fabulous owner who let us have a late check out and was a great communicator. I can’t wait to come back with my family

We just loved this house, from the location ( right on the beach ) to the furnishings & layout. Loved that that the rugs were gorgeous, there were great chairs & the table & the beds were made up with quality bed linen. We also loved the thoughtful array of reading matter - great magazines, lovely kids books, interesting coffee table books & a vast collection of novels. The perfect holiday stay.

We had 3 nights here, the location doesn’t get better. Everything you need has been thought about. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. The wood fire was perfect on our one cold night. Loved the well maintained gardens & the outdoor table watching over Waubs Bay. You won’t regret booking this one.

Cute, cosy and spectacular location
We had THE best stay! The accommodation is super tidy and has lots of character. I love the boho style. We stayed as two families with small children and the house was well equipped with everything we needed, very kid friendly. Heather was beyond accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was memorable. Will definitely be booking again!

Fabulous stay at Bicheno Beach Cottage
Heather is a great host. Excellent communication. Property is so tidy and you can tell Heather goes to a lot of effort for her guests. We have stayed twice now and just love the views, the cosy feeling and the proximity to the beach.

A very unique and special holiday spot
The uniqueness of this place strikes you as soon as you drive into the driveway... you feel like you have arrived at a secret... and once you spend time there--- you wish it was a secret place so it is not booked out!!! With its position right behind the dunes at Waub's Bay, you cannot get a better spot. It is a rustic cabin, with Moroccan pillows to drag to the deck for an afternoon wiled away with a good book and looking at the view. Sublime sheets and comfortable bed. Kitchen with everything you need and a Five star BBQ. A true getaway from it all place that steals a part of your heart. We visited as a couple and would like to come back with at least one set of friends , who would be as comfortable in the second bedroom. Third bedroom is well set up if you have children with you. Many thanks for a top spot.

We had a fantastic stay at Heather's beach house. Location and view perfect. Although the weather was not ideal it did not matter when we had such a lovely comfortable house to stay in. Penguin friends shared the yard with us. Thanks Heather for sharing with us. Highly recommend.

Little Penguin beach house.
Such a lovely spot to spend time catching up with our extended family. Plenty to do for everyone ... swimming, rock hopping and heaps of little penguins at your door step, kayaking on Waub beach, coastal walks, awesome fish and chips at the Lobster Shack. Short drive to Coles Bay & Freycinet National park. We had a lovely time and will definitely visit again!

Just Perfect
The perfect getaway for us - this cosy cottage with its beautiful wooden floors, stunning views, wood burning stove, 200 steps to the beach, resident penguins, well equiped kitchen and comfy beds ticked every box for us. The highlight has to be the picnic table under the massive old fir tree over looking the beach where we set up Christmas lunch. It was fabulous.

Very memorable stay
We had a wonderful two night stay here with our two children aged 8 and 4. We chose this property in the hope we might see penguins (which we did - and they didn’t disappoint), but wished we’d had a longer stay. The house and it’s location, and the little seaside town of Bicheno were all so lovely we could have relaxed here indefinitely!! Heather was a fantastic host - very helpful and quick to respond to questions we had. Would love to stay again! Thanks Heather for a very special and memorable stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Very convenient, lovely outlook. Penguins are plentiful. We even had pest exterminators (echidna and bluetongue) come around during our stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful relaxing location - walk straight down to the beach. Local penguins great - if a bit noisy at times in the evenings!! :-) Owners gave tips on local places to eat and drink. Layout was a little unusual with tiered level down to dining but sun deck was great for a G&T in the afternoon.

A home away from home.
My family simply loves the property. Think it would be better for the summer. The owner was kind enough to leave us plenty of fire wood. Pros: excellent location. near shops and beach access. Penguins come to the yard. Found one under the bbq . Cons: Can be slightly cold. Penguins can get quite noisy at night. Overall: wonderful. We would return.

Beautiful Bicheno Beach Cottage

The Beach House was the perfect place for a relaxing break for me and my mother. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, including high quality bed linen and flowers on the tables in all the rooms. Lovely touches everywhere. Hidden treasure
Where do I start! Our stay in this gorgeous cottage was just what we needed. It has such a unique warmth atmosphere it was absolutely perfect. The beds were so comfy. The beach right there. The fairy penguins roosting at the house was such a special treat for myself and the kids. Super noisy through the night but if you love animals and nature then it’s perfect and such a great experience to see them in their natural environment ( don’t forget your red caps to make your torch red as normal light blinds them) Heather you were a delight to communicate with. Quaint beach cottage in beautiful location
The house is perfect for family and well equipped with everything. Only a short walk to town. The proximity to the beach is an outstanding feature of this property, with views from all aspects of the house. We made use of the elevated picnic table in the garden, overlooking the beach. We saw and heard plenty of blue penguins arrive home each night, a special surprise for our four year old. Highly reccomend for a quiet get away.

A beautiful location!
This cottage is in a lovely location, very near the beach and where you can watch the fishing boats bobbing at anchor as you sit in the sun. There were plenty of clean towels and the bed linen was fresh and of good quality. However, the cottage is not suitable for anyone who is not agile. There are three big steps to get to the dining area and the bathroom, with two posts to hang on to, no hand rail. The cups, mugs and glasses are in a high cupboard, which, unless you are very tall will require climbing on the kitchen bench to reach. There are no extractor fans in the kitchen or bathroom. The king bed in the main bedroom would be better as a queen bed, which would allow a second bedside table and lamp in the room.

Cosy beach house in a perfect location
We stayed during winter and the house had good heating with the cosy fireplace going. The beds were comfortable. It was great having a cot and high chair available for our 2 year old and our 4 year old loved the bunk beds. There was also a good selection of kids books and plush toys which helped settle the kids in and made them feel at home. We could see ourselves coming back during the summer and staying for longer, the house has gorgeous beach views from all living areas and is a few steps from the beach which is stunning white sand and crystal clear water and calm water good for kids. There was also a great selection of books above the fireplace and nice touches from the owner like leaving us walnuts and chocolate, even the soap was lovely (eco store coconut bar). The fireplace was all prepped for us on arrival too and heaps of firewood provided. We didn’t get a chance to see penguins on the property as we were out during dusk both nights (and we went on a penguin tour) but I definitely heard them in the early hours of the morning so can verify they do nest on the property and we saw their footprints on the sand in the morning- amazing creatures so I think this is really special. We had a great time and hope to come back and bring family next time. Thanks for your hospitality Heather :)
