3150 Chigger Ridge Road, Birdseye, IN.
One of the best features of this cabin is that is has a screened-in back porch with a ceiling fan, and a deck that overlooks a creek within several wooded acres, and a separate deck that has 4 bar stools behind a piece of walnut live edge that face the creek and wooded acreage! You will find a nice sense of peace and solitude right here! Cozy up on the patio furniture on the back porch, and enjoy the peace and quiet! Right off the screened-in porch, there is a charcoal grill for your use. There may be charcoal and lighter fluid left from a previous guest, but it would be a good idea to bring your own. There is also a fire pit to use for those nice evenings when you want to be outdoors. It would also be a good idea to bring your own firewood.
There is a gravel drive at the top of the hill from the cabin. This drive can be used for extra parking.
The cabin has 1 bedroom on the main floor with a queen sized bed, and its own full bathroom with a walk-in shower. It has a sleeping loft with 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed, a 2nd full bathroom with a tub/shower combo on the main floor, a living room with a 40" flat screen TV, a couch that is also a queen sized sofa/pull out bed, kitchen with a 4 burner electric stove and refrigerator. There is a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and several other kitchen necessities you may need. There are also games, coloring books, hunting encyclopedias, books, puzzles, and magazines for you to enjoy if you just want some time to relax at the cabin!
Our cabin is located 1.5 miles from the Patoka Lake State Park entrance where there’s 8,800 acres of water for boating, fishing, kayaking, swimming, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, wine cruises, and a public beach. There is an additional 19,000 acres of parks and nature where there's access to archery, hiking/biking trails, and hunting. There is also a large campground and nature center.
There are also several attractions and activities nearby, like Hemlock Cliffs, French Lick/West Baden, where there is golfing, miniature golf, go-carting, casino, winery, movie theatre, antiquing, shopping, and a spa, Wilstem Wildlife Park, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, and Marengo Cave. During the winter months you might enjoy snow skiing, sledding, or snowboarding at Paoli Peaks.
Just a note that there is poor cell phone signal @ the cabin, which we appreciate. : )
