"It wasn’t all bad but the place lacked comfort. The only comfortable chairs were on the deck. The futon in the main area was uncomfortable and worn, the beds were metal legs with a wood base with a mattress on it, very uncomfortable. The houseboats were parked right up next to each other and our bedroom was right by someone else’s deck. They were night owls and stayed up until at least 2 am talking. There were three loud a/c units on the houseboat that frequently cycled on and off and when the bedroom one was on, it would drown out their voices but when it was off, which was often, you could clearly hear them even though they were talking in normal tones. I tried changing it to fan only but it got too warm and I settled for turning it as cold as I could stand it so it ran a little bit more. Needless to say I got very little sleep. The houseboat we were in was on the public access channel so there were frequently boats going by while you were sitting on your deck, close enough to slap a high five if you wanted. The houseboat is close to the dock but be aware it goes up and down with the tide, if you have mobility issues you could be making a fairly significant step up or down depending on the time of day. There is also construction going on next door so it’s kind of a mess. We did see Key deer, pelicans, Ibis, and other wildlife which was cool. The place was clean and had good water pressure. If you stay here go to No Name Pub nearby, it’s a cool place."

"We (4 older adults) enjoyed our stay. The property is situated at the corner of a canal with only one abutting neighbor. It was delightfully peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed many shady hours under the tiki. Once the pool heat was adjusted, we enjoyed a dip every afternoon. There was a problem with the plumbing, but that was taken care of promptly. The plumber was excellent as was the pool man. Our host was very responsive to every request and query. We enjoyed seeing the key deer wandering around the roads and yards. The electric gate keeps most of them out of the yard. "

"The photos of this beautiful property don’t lie!! Spacious, impeccably clean and comfortable. This home was perfect for hosting our children and grandchildren…lovely refreshing pool (bigger than expected)…fishing for tarpon right off the back yard. Incredible sunrise views off the balcony to start our day was delightful. Watching wildlife in the mangroves just off shore was a daily experience; including an occasional visit from a family of Key Deer. John was very quick to respond to any of my queries and had great local suggestions about restaurants, fishing, etc. The bikes and paddle boards were a bonus: as was the ice machine. Loved every minute in this beautiful property."

Great communication with owners who keep this place well maintained. Already booked our stay for next year!"

"My husband, dog and myself stayed for a month and really enjoyed this house. Lovely touches include a plush robe, steamer, soaps and shampoo, blow dryer etc. Lots of extra linens, towels. Well-stocked kitchen, including 2 coffee makers, keurig coffee pods and regular coffee. Frig had filtered water and ice. Every weekend is a flea market and we got some great buys there. The Keys is very pet friendly and many bars and restaurants are pet-friendly. Host was very responsive . "

"We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Big Pine Paradise. We come down for a month every year and this was the first time we stayed here but it for sure will not be our last. The location making it easy to get to the back country or ocean side, the marina with boat launch and dockside fuel just around the corner, the pool to cool off in after a day on the water. An absolutely beautiful home and great management as well, anything we needed was easy to get answers or help. Thank you for such an awesome stay!"

"Frigate’s Nest was a great place to stay at while in the Keys. Separate houses made it nice to have families have their own space while still being steps away from each other. Houses were in great shape and clean with bathrooms for each room. Place was secluded and had dock on the gulf. We had a great time for mini season! Would definitely rebook and comeback!"
