Blue Ridge October 2024

Location of the property is beautiful. Main cabin was spacious enough room for everyone to spread out and not feel like they’re on top of each other. Bedrooms and baths were enough for the family that we had there. Smaller cabin was quaint and provided extra overflow for friends who came views were spectacular with the leaves changing Couldn’t figure out fireplace how to work it no manual that was the only hiccup. Definitely rent out the cabin again for future gatherings

Great property for golf trip

This house gave the feel of being deep into the mountains while still being very accessible to nice restaurants in the local towns, grocery stores, etc. within a 5-10 minute drive. We stayed here for a golf trip with 6 participants, and enjoyed excellent golf courses within a 30 minute drive radius as well. Everyone had their own private space. Kitchen was large, comfortable, and well-stocked, allowing us to cook 2 of the nights for the group comfortably. Hot tub was a nice feature especially after golf for multiple days in a row. Only constructive criticism was that the wifi wasn't very strong which affected both connectivity and TV reception. However, we obviously went here to "unplug" so this didn't bother us at all.

Great Place For A Pastor's Retreat!

Every year, we book a Pastor's Retreat, and this location was perfect. We even had book, cancel and re-book, due to one of our pastor's suffering a death in the family. This VRBO Property allowed us to re-book and they even kindly honored our original pricing agreement. WE WOULD LIKE TO BOOK A PASTOR'S RETREAT AT THIS SAME LOCATION IN 2025. Thank you. Not great!

The house could have been nice but it was not clean! The beds were not clean and had urine stains in two of them and in one bed a toenail. The sheets had not been changed. There was dust on fans and lights and the oven was dirty! It really put a damper on our trip. The host company was not very resonsive to our complaints. We would not rent again.

Review

We had several issues with parts of our stay. The smaller cabin smelled exactly like a cigarette throughout the entire place. Every bit of bedding/pillows in the small cabin reeked of cigarette smell. We had two families with babies who were intending on staying in that house and weren’t able to because they didn’t want their babies exposed to the smoke. With a strict no smoking rule on the listing this should have never been an issue. We arrived at 4:45, which is 45 minutes past the check in time. Cleaners were still there cleaning up so we had to wait for them to finish cleaning before we could get inside. A majority of towels for the main cabin were left in the washer unable to be used until we completed the load. The coffee pot in the smaller cabin was FULL of mold. Several bowls were full of what looked to be rat poop. Lastly, the fire place would not work for the entire weekend. Someone came to the house to help fix it which took a good thirty minutes and it shut off as soon as she left. The house was lovely but we were disappointed with our stay for the above reasons.
