About this property
Just Renovated! The Best Little A-Frame in Blue Ridge—Cozy 2BR with Barrel Sauna
JUST RENOVATED! Easygoing. Easy staying. Your all-season mountain retreat for two (or four) with a woodburning fireplace, treehouse-inspired decks, outdoor den, and barrel sauna. Nothing quite compares to an A-frame cabin in the woods. Relaxed, refined, and sized just right, The Outpost proves time, space, and nature are our greatest luxuries. Tucked into rustic peaks under two hours north (and worlds away) from Atlanta, furnished with antiques, folk art, and all the modern comforts, this is the place to (just) be.
After serving 300+ guests since 2016, we decided to make The Outpost even better. We paused hosting in 2025 to complete significant interior and exterior renovations, including adding all new hardwood floors, a stone-and-glass shower with a tankless water heater and whole-home water filter, an outdoor screened-in den, and a barrel steam sauna. Come experience it for yourselves!
The Outpost is a two-bedroom, one-bath, modern-rustic A-frame cabin ideal for a traveling couple or grown-up group of four (i.e. Not ideal for little humans or large pups).
Please read our full listing, House Rules, and driving/parking info *before* requesting to book.
We want every guest to have the most comfortable, safe, and wonderful stay possible in our mountain home!
Welcome to Our Cabin One of the few original A-frame homes in Cherry Log Mountain Community, The Outpost was originally built in 1984, then thoughtfully renovated and updated over time. An expanded living area anchored with a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace and a wide wall of windows adds space, light, and intimate mountain views without diminishing its cozy, classic charm. Wooded privacy from neighbors and proximity to both civilization and wilderness make it an excellent launching point (and landing pad) for your Blue Ridge, Georgia stay.
Put on a record, pick out a tune, or just listen to the breeze. Watch the sun set (or rise) over the trees. Spy shooting stars from the upper deck. Read. Cook. Nap after a long hike or paddle. Wind down, or wake up, with a ritual steam sauna. Make it your own, and enjoy every moment.
Please Note: * Minimum stay required (some seasons/holidays will require higher nightly minimums) * Rates vary by season, weekday, and holiday; check availability for active rates * Guest fee: The rental platform charges and collects this fee to cover platform use and support * Cleaning fee: Added per stay to cover our professional cleaning and trash pickup service. Ask us about packing out your trash to save $$ off your cleaning fee! * All bookings will include applicable taxes and are tax-compliant * The cabin is not childproofed nor set up for young children (doesn't have a bathtub or baby amenities, does have a wood-burning fireplace, tall decks, and a barrel sauna) * Small, housetrained dogs (30lbs or less) that are up-to-date on all vaccines may be allowed with pre-approval for an additional fee
Mountain Roads This is a true cabin in the mountains and you will have to travel mountain roads (i.e. gravel, narrow, winding, steep, bumpy) to reach it. We get mixed responses to the drive up to The Outpost. If you're familiar and comfortable with driving in and navigating mountain terrain in a suitable vehicle—and the weather and community maintenance crews have been cooperating—you may be surprised how comparatively tame our backroads are. If you've rarely ventured off the pavement and/or don't have an AWD or 4WD vehicle with good clearance, you'll find it much more challenging. Ruts, potholes, and washouts are common after heavy rains, so do keep this in mind when choosing our cabin and preparing for your trip.
PLEASE back out to your left and turn around in the cul-de-sac when leaving either driveway. This is much easier on you and on our gravel roads.
Off-site Hosts What's a cabin getaway without a little solitude? Following your seamless self-check-in, you'll have The Outpost all to yourself—just as if you were visiting your own vacation cabin or borrowing the home of a dear friend. While we're available via the platform app, should you need us, we'll keep our hosting communications to a minimum so you can enjoy your stay uninterrupted. To keep The Outpost operating safely and comfortably, we schedule routine and essential maintenance visits year-round, avoiding visits during guests' stays whenever possible. Please keep in mind that last-minute service calls (plumbing, HVAC, pest-control, etc.) are harder to come by here than in the city. Together with our unofficial local "support team" of cleaners, handy-folks, and kindly neighbors, we'll always do our best to help fix whatever needs fixing during your stay. In return, we ask that you please treat our home as if it were your own, report any damage, missing items, or other property concerns immediately, and work with us to resolve any issues that may arise. Thanks, y'all!

Guest Requirements The Outpost is perfect for couples, a pair of couples, or foursomes of friends or family members (sleeping up to four in two queen beds). It's not designed or equipped for small children or large dogs.
Pet Policy Guests may be permitted to bring a small dog, with pre-approval, for an additional fee. Your pup must be, without exception: - 30lbs or less - Housetrained & well-behaved - Up to date on all vaccines - Securely crated in the cabin (BYO crate) whenever you're out/away. (Do not leave your pup alone on the deck or in the screened porch.) - Leashed whenever they're outside - Tightly bag all pet waste & dispose of it in the household trash upon departure. NOTE: Leaving dog waste outside can attract bears & puts other wildlife at risk. - We gladly accommodate service animals in keeping with current ADA requirements (see ada-dot-gov).
Local Wildlife The Outpost is well-appointed with all the modern comforts of home, but it's still a little cabin in the woods. We share our property with local wildlife—including deer, bears, skunks, raccoons, snakes, lizards, insects, scorpions, and spiders—which you may encounter during your stay. Please exercise respect and caution, and never approach or feed wild animals.
Sound & Quiet Hours While we do not allow weapons of any kind on our property, sound does carry in the mountains—especially in the colder months—and you may occasionally hear hunting or sporting firearms, as well as the highway that takes you into town. More often, you'll hear birds calling, insects singing, the rustling of the trees, or the drumming of rain on the roof. We ask that you please respect our neighbors—and other local wildlife ;)— by observing quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. In addition, please avoid light pollution by ensuring lights are turned off before you head to bed for the night.
Still have questions? Please message us before you book. We'll do our best to reply within 24 hours.
