Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not As Advertised
We booked our stay at Bodega Bay Coast Inn and Suites, only to arrive and find it had been rebranded as Hotel Dega — with no prior notice. To make matters worse, the directions we were given were completely inaccurate, causing a two-hour delay and forcing us to search for a gas station just to make a call, as the service was patchy and we couldn’t reach anyone reliably.
While the woman at the front desk was kind and apologetic, promising a refund toward our stay, that refund was never issued — and follow-up calls were eventually ignored. We tried calling three separate times to check in and were essentially ghosted.
The room itself left much to be desired. The door didn’t open properly with the code and didn’t close securely. There were no phones in the room, and the front desk is only available from 12pm–8pm, which left us without any support when we needed it.
That night, the TV had no internet connection, and we had to call a third-party line in another country just to get the internet turned on. The next morning, there was no hot water — and once again, we had to contact a third party for assistance.
The photos on the website are misleading. The actual experience did not reflect the quality we expected. We’ve never left a negative review before, but this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We would not recommend staying here.
