The reason to book here was to work remotely, as they have a desk in the room and are supposed to have a high-speed connection throughout the property; they had no wifi during my entire stay, and the staff keep telling that will be solved "the next day," which never happened. Plus, I went to the front desk to ask for drinkable water, and the lady there told me that I could drink the water from the bathrooms; however, there was a sign warning that the water in the rooms is NOT drinkable, so that was a really awkward moment. The premises have nice wood finishes, but the no-WiFi and weird drinkable water situation made my stay here a non-worthwhile value-investment relation.

Everything was great and above expectations except for the shower area. In our room #10 you can't turn on the water without getting wet and the water is cold and you get the shower door wet inside and outside and the floor all around the toilet. Seriously?? You go to such great lengths to have the bathroom area so beautifully done and you do this?

Ideal location, comfortable rooms, disastrous communication/service Communication beforehand was disastrous; we had to repeatedly follow up to get email responses regarding transfers and payments. The airport transfer, which had been confirmed in writing, was simply forgotten, leaving us stranded at the airport with all our luggage. In all our years of traveling around the world, we have never experienced anything like this. Upon arrival, however, the welcome was quite warm, and the apology felt reasonably sincere. We ended up having to cover the cost of a taxi ourselves, as the driver—who was supposed to accept card payments—suddenly claimed he could no longer do so. For reference, the trip from the airport to the hotel cost 90,000 COP. The room itself was very clean and cozy, with a highly comfortable bed and a fantastic shower. The personalized breakfast (offering four choices) was also very tasty, and the cook—a woman—was wonderful. At times, a man assisted with breakfast service; he consistently placed his thumb on the plate while serving, which was both highly unpleasant and unhygienic. In summary: A beautifully appointed hotel with cozy rooms, situated in an excellent location within the historic center. However, the communication leading up to our stay was exceptionally poor.

Ideale Lage, komfortable Zimmer, katastrophale Kommunikation/Service Katastrophale Kommunikation im Vorfeld, an eMail-Antworten bzgl. Transfers und Zahlungen musste immer wieder erinnert werden. Der schriftlich bestätigte Flughafentransfer wurde schlichtweg vergessen, so dass wir mit unserem Gepäck am Flughafen standen. So etwas haben wir in den ganzen Jahren unserer Reisen quer durch die Länder der Welt noch nie erlebt. Der Empfang war dann allerdings recht herzlich, die Entschuldigung halbwegs ehrlich. Die Kosten für die Taxifahrt hat man uns vorgelegt, da das Taxi vom Flughafen dann doch plötzlich keine Kartenzahlung mehr akzeptieren wollte. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen zum Hotel kostete übrigens 90.000 COP. Das Zimmer wiederum war sehr sauber und gemütlich. Das Bett sehr komfortabel und die Dusche großartig. Auch das individuelle Frühstück (vier Wahlmöglichkeiten) war sehr schmackhaft, die weibliche Köchin wunderbar. Teilweise gab es beim Frühstück auch eine männliche Unterstützung als Bedienung. Dieser hatte beim Servieren stets einen Daumen auf dem Teller, was sehr unangenehm und unhygienisch war. Fazit: Schön hergerichtetes Hotel mit gemütlichen Zimmern in einer hervorragenden Lage im historischen Zentrum. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war allerdings beispiellos schlecht.

What a wonderful hotel. A peaceful oasis in the best possible location in La Candalaria. Great hotel, great staff, greatvrooms – even great breakfast. We will definitely come back!
