Beautiful custom home with a fantastic kitchen - high end appliances and lighting throughout. Drive up to the house is windy and steep, but that’s how it works to get the view and be in the tree tops. Porches are lovely to take in the views and see deer. Only thing I would note is that the address was different on the listing map than what it actually is, and we had to delay our check in because they had a gentleman blowing leaves and taking trash and we couldn’t access the driveway after the 4 pm check in. If I were to say anything needed changing, it would be the lighting in the bottom floor bathrooms. It is way too bright and cool of a color temperature - could either use a dimmer or less wattage on the bulbs. All in all, a great rental - felt safe and it was extremely clean.

We had a great stay at Peace of Mind. Beautiful kitchen and main level of the house. Very clean and beautiful neighborhood. Each bedroom having their own bathroom was nice. We will stay again when we come back to Boone!

Excellent Mountain Getaway

We had a great time staying for new years with our friends and dogs! The house is lovely and comfortable and so cozy for the cold weather! The yard is slightly tough for taking the dogs out to use the bathroom but despite the steep hills, the neighborhood is easily walkable.

Perfect for hiking and college tour

The location worked out so well. We wanted to spend extra time prior to an App State admissions tour and this was close to so many trails, antiquing and King Street. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings. You can’t go wrong with this house.

The rental was exactly as described and very clean and kitchen well stocked with all the utensils you need. Gas range was a plus! Description of property and pictures were exactly as advertised! Starter kits with hand soaps, shampoo, and personal care items were a nice touch!

Overall, a quiet place to relax.

We spent 5 days on a quilting retreat. Layout spaces are limited in the main room, which provides no television or sound system. Plenty of televisions available throughout the house. Outside deck needs some updating, cleaning and repainting. Downstairs bathroom needs regrouping and drain de-clogger. Also could use an exterminator visit as camel crickets appeared in the downstairs bathroom. Heat exchange has a rough, noisy start and rattles the blinds in the far bedroom each time it runs. The upstairs master bathroom was not cleaned prior to our arrival as they was soap left over from the last guest and hair in the bathroom drain catcher. Again, if peace and quiet are the goal, this is a very peaceful community.

The house was beautiful. We were very pleased. We came for graduation. It was close to everything. I would suggest that the house get a good metal shovel as we needed to shovel the drive on arrival and only found a plastic shovel and a broom. Made it kind of hard. The caution about 4 wheel drive vehicle is important as the inclines are sometimes steep. We would rent again here.

Boy's Weekend

Peace of Mind was a fantastic place to spend our 4 day "boy's weekend". This house was truly perfect for what we wanted. Big kitchen, awesome wrap around porch, neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. Plus only a 15 minute drive to Boone and Blowing Rock.

WOnderful stay at Peace of Mind

Peace of Mind was a very nice place to stay. The house was updated, clean and spacious. Perfect for 6 to 10 guests. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood was beautiful. Bring some extra blankets for the bedding if you are cold natured. The house is 20 minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock. We would diffidently stay here again.

Peace of Mind rental

The property was nice, but the floors could use a good scrubbing. It would also be nice if there were a few dish towels to use. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
