Relaxing week in perfect home

The house was just beautiful and exactly met our needs. The location was perfect. Such amazing views and so many different areas surrounding the home to enjoy them. The pool and hot tub were big favorites for the kids. Brand new grill was much enjoyed. I will look to stay only there whenever we return.

Bright and comfy house with stellar location and views

The house features a comfy and spacious great room and well-equipped kitchen, perfect for our group of three couples. There are multiple outside seating areas from which to take in the fabulous views. Location was terrific: on a dead-end road adjacent to the state park and close enough to walk to town. The host was friendly and responsive. We would certainly book again!

Beautiful Getaway

We stayed here in late March 2021. The property is absolutely beautiful and very tastefully decorated! The kitchen is well equipped and there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't provided. We stayed with two small children who loved running around the property and exploring. It would have been nice if the pool was heated as it was very cold but the kids didn't care! Would stay here again!

Poppy Dessert Escape!

We had such a fun experience out here in this beautiful home! We sat by the big windows in the living room and watched the jackrabbits and birds pass by. We enjoyed the pool with such an awesome view! And the stars, oh my goodness. This place is wonderful, truly accommodating for our girls retreat!

Great family house

We had three generations, six people for a week and this house was a great place for us. Grandpa and teenager shared the casita and the two couples had the queen bedrooms in the main house. Great desert walks straight from the door, loved the jacuzzi. Pool was still cool in March. The owner has Netflix and we found the wifi to work well for us. The boys all liked the outdoor toilet! The location is just great and it's on a very big, private lot against the mountains.

Gorgeous desert home

Terrie's Poppy House is an AMAZING desert property. You won't believe how beautiful the setting is ... completely surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The house is very roomy, and is gorgeous inside furnished with beautiful mid-century furniture and tasteful decorating. The views of the desert out of the many floor to ceiling windows make this place one of a kind. There is also hiking all over the Anza-Borrego Desert and several restaurants just a few minutes away. We enjoyed our stay at Terrie's house immensely. Terrie was 100% attentive to any questions we had. This place is a gem.

Family Getaway

My husband and I, along with our teenage kids, were desperately needing a change of scenery. The floor to ceiling windows gave us a beautiful view even when we were hanging out inside. We had fun watching the jack rabbits, quail, and road runners. The house was so clean and comfortable. We loved spending hours in the pool each day. Working with Terrie was a real pleasure. She is kind, accommodating, and very much cared about us having a good experience. We returned home refreshed and relaxed. We fully expect to return in the future!

Awesome House

We had an awesome stay at the Poppy House! It doesn’t disappoint! Accommodations are great and beds are comfortable. Jacuzzi was awesome! Pool isn’t heated but that wasn’t a big deal! We hope to be back as I was a10 out of 10!

Beautiful desert hideaway

Simple but lovely and comfortable house on the edge of town with enormous windows on all sides looking out at the spectacular mountains a short distance away. Terrie is a gracious and responsive host. We're planning to come back.

Everyone had a great time!

All of us really enjoyed our stay at the Poppy House. First of all, if you love the desert, Borrego Springs is really enjoyable. We went four-wheeling, biking, sight-seeing, took a trip to the Salton Sea, etc. The house is really comfortable with a mid-century vibe. We especially enjoyed the very large and accommodating living room and kitchen area with floor to ceiling windows. It feels like you're outside even when you're inside. From the living room we watched rabbits, jack rabbits and roadrunners galore scurrying around the property. The mountain views are really impressive too. The house was very clean when we arrived and was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We all agreed that the beds were very comfortable. Terrie, the host, was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. This was my first VRBO rental and it was a really great experience all the way around.

Desert Dream

Desert Poppy House was the perfect vacation home for our trip to see the Anza-Borrego wildflowers. The home was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. There’s a welcoming hot tub and pool for relaxing after a long day of hiking. And the location can’t be beat! Close to the Visitor’s Center, restaurants, and markets. We also enjoyed sitting outside at night under a million stars. Hope to visit again.

Great family trip!

Had a wonderful time and despite the cold, we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen and living room were spacious, comfortable and the windows allow lots of enjoying the light and wildlife. Very close to downtown Borrego and Anza Borrego visitor center. Very responsive host!

New year week

The poppy house was a fantastic place to enjoy the desert and Anza Borrego State Park! The huge windows in every room, especially the living room, make you feel like you're enjoying the outdoors even when cozy by the fire. House was clean and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The hot tub was also fantastic! We had a great stay and will definitely return to enjoy the house again in the future.

Thanksgiving vacation with family

The stay was very pleasant. The home is well situated and in a “dark skies” town so the night sky is amazing from the backyard. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes etc. overall a great home to stay in!
