"Nice place, our room needed a bit of TLC, few cobwebs about, old single glazed windows, wooden frames that were rotten,, good shower with plenty of hot water, friendly staff, decent breakfast, comfy bed ,on the whole good value for money, just needs a bit of investment."

"The beach view was fantasti. We had a clear view of the beach a d the sea. We were lucky to get in to the Fore Street caroark which is next to the pub and it was safe and secure. The village of Beer and jndeed the Anchor have been favourite places for us. However the Anchor looks tired and dated and in need of a major overhaul. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout but appeared to be leaderless. There appeared to be noboy in charge. Whi h is unusual for a pub, with rooms."

"It was fine - but a huge amount of money for what it was. Given that the property was billed as ‘four-star’ and ‘luxury’, we were expecting a lot more. The television didn’t work properly. The internet was very unreliable. The shower door wouldn’t close. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, and the duvets were cheap and nasty. The place wasn’t in a great state of repair (including a leaking tap in the kitchen and a window that wouldn’t close) and wasn’t particularly clean - the floors especially were filthy. The place was also like a sauna as the heated towel rail had been left on (and it was 28 degrees outside), and it took us a while to figure out how to switch it off. There were also none of the little touches you’d expect in a ‘luxury’ place, such as hand soap in the bathroom, or washing up liquid/dishwasher detergent in the kitchen. The kitchen was extremely poorly equipped with just four of everything - cups, plates, glasses, bowls - which meant we were constantly washing up. None of this is a disastrous - but it’s not acceptable when you are paying luxury prices. Perhaps what you are paying for is mostly the location - but maybe stop billing this as a ‘luxury chalet’, because it definitely is not. "

"Very cute, cosy and comfy cottage in the centre of beautiful Beer. Really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing and a great location in a beautiful and peaceful seaside village."

"3 generations ageing from 4 to 75 years. We had a lovely 3 days over the Christmas period at this beautiful cottage. Everything you need and more is provided and the owners are on hand if needed. On arrival Nigel was there to greet us and show us around, there was also a lovely welcome pack. The cottage is so warm and homely, enough space for us all to enjoy the hot tub was ready to go which we all enjoyed. The WiFi is touch and go but to be honest it was only the teenager that missed it. We all enjoyed our time together and would recommend this property without hesitation. Thank you"

"Easy parking very clean short walk to beer. Only thing to complain. There was no anti slip mat in bath for shower which made me feel a bit unsafe."
