"Room with box bathroom in corner smelled damp, probably because regulation extraction fan in was not working and probably never had as string tied up as when fitted. The bed had a 6 cm foam mattress on a solid wood box base so very uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on, but still appeared to sag in middle. No reception, 2 flights of stairs and main door left open, so less than secure. Unsafe and unhealthy."

"Really well situated - just on the edge of the Bastide and about 15 minutes walk from the walled town. Lovely home with a small pool and excellent outdoor kitchen. It had all the facilities we needed. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here."

"The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location.The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"The apartment met our needs and is in a great location. The castle is a 'must see' and there are some excellent restaurants all within walking distance."

"We enjoyed the property’s location — walking distance to the medieval town and very close to the Monoprix grocery store. Very clean and good modern amenities including a great kitchen. Parking at Parking Centre-ville was really good and reasonable / free for most of the weekend for example."

"Merci pour ce week end au soleil. Les enfants ont adoré la piscine, la table de ping pong. Les chiens ont adoré le grand jardin cloturé et Volta la chienne des propriétaires. Les adultes ont apprécié le grande terrasse couverte à l'ombre. Merci aux propriétaires charmants et disponibles. Le gîte se prête tout particulièrement aux grandes familles ou groupes. "

"Mick and Inga were wonderful hosts for our 10 day stay at Cammas de Bas. The Gite is next to their farmhouse and has everything that is needed for a self catering holiday. The pool is fantastic-very refreshing and just the right temperature with plenty of relaxing loungers around. The local village has everything you need and there are large supermarkets within 10 minutes drive plus many daily markets for beautiful fresh produce.The area has lots of great things to do and see for all tastes and...

The apartment itself had everything we needed and included a nice private balcony which added to the ambience. We would definately choose to stay again if we are back in Carcassonne. "What a fantastic hotel! It's beautiful, the gardens and pool are lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was large and airy, and the bed was very comfortable. Fantastic shower. Despite being next to the Basilica no noise got into the room, even when the bells rang! The food in La Barbacane was delicious. Excellent location, great as a base to explore Carcassonne on foot."

"I booked this hotel at the last minute and was extremely pleased with my choice. The hotel lobby was large, clean, and inviting, and the receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom sparkled. The accommodation was excellent! The downside however was the restaurant. Our dinners were expensive, bland, and the choices were limited at the buffet counter. The service was good, which helped mitigate an otherwise negative experience. I highly recommend this hotel, but would suggest dining elsewhere. "
