"The staff were wonderful and much more helpful and friendly than the management. The room was wonderful and the food was good. It is further from the beach than other reviewers indicate but they have a very inexpensive tuk tuk service available. The pool is small but fits the bill when it is hot out and you don't want to go to the beach."

"Das Hotel ist im Stil einer alten Kolonialvilla augestattet,sehr stimmig und geschmackvoll. Der Garten, der Pool, Alles sehr gepflegt. Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Was uns nicht gefallen hat, waren die Preise im Restaurant (völlig überteuert!) und dass den ganzen Tag Musk lief, die ja in dieser Lautstärke nicht jedem gefällt. Schade, es könnte ein richtig superfriedlicher Ort sen. "

"Stannade där i 3 nätter, bra service från hotell ägaren som var trevlig. Polen fin men vi ville mera vara vid havet. De körde en till stranden gratis med tuktuk vilket var riktigt bra, stranden är fin men det finns så många finare stränder och städer på Sri lanka som jag mer skulle rekommendera att besöka.
Helt okej vistelse men skulle inte välja att bo här igen."

"This was such a great stay at the Traum Villa; after some negative experiences at the the tourist places, which Bentota is one off, we were sceptic, but it was absolutely lovely. The staff is so friendly, always helpful and made us feel really welcome. We will go back there very soon."

"The hotel is very authentic and their food is yummy! The best srilankan dinner we had! The room are old but thats fine.. the staff is awesome and the owners so friendly.. they have a stunning seating with a wonderful view for lunch or dinnner and their breakfast is yummy"

"We stayed at this hotel in November and enjoyed it very much. Our room was spacious and we had a pool/sea view. The room was cleaned every day. The food was very good with plenty of choice. Very novel getting the boat across the lake to the hotel."

"One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at (and we travel a lot!). Definitely recommend the room with the private plunge pool (which includes your own personal butler). INCREDIBLE view to wake up to in the morning and you won't regret it! Also the restaurant is so good, we ate every single meal there and couldn't get enough of the food. They made excellent local Sri Lankan dishes with so much flavor and spa. Spa services were also excellent! We will definitely be coming back!"

Absolutely wonderful! Here you get a high-class hotel with a consistently high level. Very nice, well-renovated/built rooms with a high standard, wonderful hotel/pool area, walking distance to the wonderful beach where the hotel also offers sunbeds free of charge, well-stocked gym and much more. large breakfast buffet, both international and local.
The service level is incredibly high where you want to give that little extra all the time. High professional service level on everything from cleaners, reception to bartender and the service staff who take care of the pool/towels. They usually know what you will ask for before you do it. such as wifi passwords to adapters to charge your mobile phone.
We can highly recommend this luxury gem! For me and my daughter it was a perfect start to our adventure in Sri Lanka! Anders and Emilia from Stockholm / Sweden"

"The bedsheets and mattress were wet and some moist smell was coming. One half of the bathroom sliding door was broken. The beds are very small for twin beds’ size. There was no proper process/queue for check-in. It was not managed properly and anyone was coming in between and was checking in. The hotel seems to be overcrowded. The beach was not accessible. There were stones and fisherman boats were there which made the water smell oily and bad. The only good thing in hotel was swimming pool and food. I tried calling reception to get my room upgraded or changed but the number call was transferred and disconnected eventually. Not sure how it is rated as 5 star. Overall we had a really bad experience, not at all worth the money we spent. "
