Lakeside Cottage

Relaxing Getaway

We stayed for 25 nights while our house was being renovated in September/October. We loved having our coffee on the deck each morning looking at all the fish in the clear lake and being visited by the ducks and swans. We walked in Island Lake State Park every day. Maurice and Shannon were the perfect hosts. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Moms weekend

Three moms came together for a weekend of outside beauty, walking trails, sitting by the lake and enjoying conversation over cocktails. This cabin was a great fit for all of the above and only 8 mins away from downtown Brighton where we planned massages, foot detox, and dinners that we didn’t have to make!

Quiet Holiday at the Lake House

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Maurice the host, made it special with Christmas lights and even a tiny decorated tree! This location worked well for us as we were visiting family in the area. We hope to book again if the opportunity arises! 😁

Clean little retreat

We were in town for a family wedding, and this property was a helpful escape from the madness. It had everything we needed to use it as a base camp for our activities. Despite the dreary weather, the heat was perfect. Important to note that you can hear through the walls quite easily (only of note because half our party came in very late after the others had gone to sleep). The outdoor area with porch and dock are quite charming. A lovely place 3

Wonderful lame house

We have stayed twice and plan to come back. Lovely lake house on a nice peaceful lake. Lovely home and lot. Nice to have a fire pit and boats to use. We r from the area-way back when ;) and its like stepping pack into a great childhood. Thank you!

Clean & Cozy

This little cottage is very cute, cozy and clean! We enjoyed the gas fireplace and the view was beautiful. It was perfect for the two nights that we stayed. The owner was very communicative and easy to work with. I would recommend upgrading to keyless entry.

Fabulously Serene

Maurice was wonderful from the minute he reached out to share check in procedures and to welcome us. When we arrived, check-in was seemless, fresh linens were on the beds and we were greeted with the most clean we have seen or smelled in our guest stays. The beds were comfortable, the view spectacular and the sundries we may have forgotten. This location is a great oasis right on the lake and we don't hesitate to recommend! Extended stay to visit family and friends. Perfect!

Quiet stay on the lake. Truly tranquil, peaceful cottage with perfect accommodations. If you’re looking for luxury accommodations, this is not your cottage. We were so happy here for our 6 week stay. Coffee in the morning watching the swans with bonfires in the evening. What’s not to love. Very close to shopping, walking trails and excellent downtown restaurants. The Cozy Inn Bar is within walking distance. You’ll love it!

Quick Getaway

The views from this place are amazing. Very quaint, with everything you need. Working gas fireplace was a nice addition on the cooler nights. Woke up to swans at the end of the dock which my daughter absolutely loved. Host was very helpful when we left something behind, even mailed it home to us. Thank you. 5 stars.

Wedding get away

We stayed here for my brother's wedding. It turned out my dad was actively dying, so we came to MI sooner than planned. Maurice was very communicative, compassionate, and kind enough to work it out so we could stay there earlier than we had booked. This place, which Maurice calls a “cottage” is beautiful. I say it’s not a cottage! You can tell it is loved, it has many cute details and is complete with this wonderous deck. It is a peaceful, serene getaway, yet close to many amenities and the highway. I bet in the summertime it is amazing. It was too cold to use the paddleboat, SUP and canoe but how nice they are available for guests. Book this place! You won’t regret it!
