"Based on the online ratings we had high expectations for the Mimslyn Inn. We were a bit disappointed. The good and the not so good: The rooms are vey spacious however they do not come with a micro fridge or microwave. I cannot remember the last time I stayed at a hotel or inn where they were not provided. NOTE: A community microwave and fridge were available on the third floor. The staff was attentive and we enjoyed the two meals that we had at the Speakeasy Restaurant. During our stay the other restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub which was kept clean and the perfect temperature. On the downside, several of the carpets at the Inn are in need of some serious cleaning - something I was not expecting at an Inn this highly rated. All in all, we enjoyed our stay - the Inn appears to be one of the few upscale places to stay in Luray."

"Do NOT stay here!! I was terrified. There were folks loitering outside and watching as I checked in, they followed me inside lobby and began questioning why I was in town. (I'm suspecting they were homeless) Room had bugs, floor was sticky (gross), bath tub was dirty, furniture & fixtures were nasty. I immediately wanted to checkout, but all neighboring properties were sold out! I made it out alive and without incident. I'm not being dramatic - I was terrified!"

"This is a cool place...they had a walking trail. Park at your door convenience. Great $12 all u can eat country breakfast buffet. Historic place....1936 origins. Best stop on my road trip to Philadelphia. Blow off the chains and stop here."

"Hotel smelled new and room was clean and quiet. Lack of washcloths and towels, 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels and 3 bath towels for a 4 person room. We stayed on a weekday, was told at check that breakfast was 0700-0930. Arrived in breakfast room at 0905 and breakfast was cleaned up. The staff in the dining area said during the week breakfast ended at 0900. I was told the weekend hours at check in. Parking could be a problem if hotels are full. "
