  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. The location was perfect for the centre of Bruges. The rooms were large and very clean. Breakfast were excellent with a good choice for a continental style. The owner and staff were very helpful for our stay. Will go again.

Loved this stay in the City. Staff very helpful, breakfast had many tasty choices. We were able to walk safely at night and were near to all the things we wanted to see. The room was well appointed and comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous place

Very friendly staff and great service. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was delicious. Rooms were spacious and clean. Waking distance to main market and all around Bruges. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for Christmas Markets

Great hotel right in the middle of Bruges. Veronique was a lovely hostess and the room was very clean and well equipped. My car was also able to be stored in the garage with 24/7 key code access which was great. We went for the Christmas Markets and this hotel is a stones throw away from the larger market with lots of shops and restaurants within a minutes walk.

The Alegria Hotel, in the heart of the historic Bruges center, is absolutely wonderful! We had such a great time staying there. Veronique is a very attentive and knowledgeable hotelier who makes you feel right at home. The rooms are great and spacious and clean with a nice view. The breakfast, which was included, was lovely and much appreciated and we also really enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and the cappuccinos! We will definitely come back and stay at the Alegria Hotel!

We only stayed one night here, but this was a great location. They have parking onsite, but we didn’t reserve it. We instead parked very close by in a safe garage. The room is very efficiently laid out. The breakfast was nice, and provided us with a great start to our day visiting Bruges. The staff shared a lot of great information about places to go, as well as provided us with a discount card to several places. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed having a towel warmer in the bathroom!

We stayed 3 nights here while visiting Bruges. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fantastic with great options and even fresh squeezed orange juice. I can‘t remember the name of the staff who checked us in, but she took such good care of us while we were there. Thank you! Also, the location is convenient, just steps away from the Market Square and easy access to dining and shopping options. We walked everywhere. We parked just around the corner in a public, covered garage. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

7:00〜19:00の間はブルージュ駅からホテルのほぼ前を通るセントラムシャトルがあります。行きは19：00過ぎに着いたので乗れませんでしたが、帰りは駅まで3ユーロで行けました。 マダムがいろいろ市内観光について教えてくれました。 朝食はハム、チーズ、フルーツ、パンなど種類が豊富で楽しめました。 家族経営の小さいホテルですが、とても快適な滞在を楽しめました、 市の中心の広場まですぐで観光にもとても便利でした。

Hôtel bien placé en centre ville

Accueil glacial qui s'est amélioré par la suite. La chambre au dernier étage est agréable mais surchauffée, malgré le ventilateur mis à disposition. Bon petit-déjeuner.

Dette hotellet kan absolutt anbefales! Veldig hyggelig eier og et nydelig og delikat interiør. Gode senger også. Det eneste negative var at det var dårlig støy isolert mot gaten. Trafikk høres veldig godt på brostein.

Leuk hotel in mooie omgeving

Heel leuk hotel met ruime kamers. De omgeving is lekker rustig en toch heel dicht op het centrum. Douchen in bad is niet helemaal mijn ding, maar het was erg schoon en netjes onderhouden. We hebben een aangenaam verblijf gehad. Brugge is dan ook een hele leuke en mooie stad.

Séjour très agréable. La mauvaise surprise , le parking qui faisait parti de la prestation avec le petit déjeuner et le wifi dans votre proposition….et qui m’a été facturé 15 € par jour ( au départ le prix était de 20 € ) .

Empfehlenswert

Insgesamt eine Unterkunft mit netter fast familiärer Atmosphäre im Zentrum der Altstadt. Das Parkhaus (mit angemessenen Preisen) ist in nächster Umgebung und auch der Check-In verlief problemlos. Brügge ist auch generell auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert! Anzumerken wäre nur, dass bei den Zimmern, die nach vorne rausgehen, man die Straße deutlich hört- also am besten bei Bedarf ein ruhiges Zimmer erfragen. Außerdem waren die Zimmer doch recht klein.

Super Hotel mit toller Lage

Sehr nettes, kleines Hotel im Zentrum von Brügge. Die Inhaberin ist sehr zuvorkommend, Corona-Regeln und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen werden sehr ernst genommen. Das Frühstück war am Buffet sehr schön angerichtet, wir wurden von ihr bedient. Das Zimmer zum Innenhof war sehr geräumig. Parken war kein Problem, gleich um die Ecke gibt es eine Tiefgarage für € 12,50 Tagespauschale. Die Abfahrt ist etwas eng, die Parkebenen aber geräumiger.
