Shipwatch Review

Good location, hotel is pretty well kept up. Woman (Ashley) in the check in office was very helpful and knowledgeable. Room - bathroom needs to be updated. Rug in the living area is dangerous - slips on the tile. Kitchen is well equipped.

Family Spring Break

Stayed as a family of 4 with 2 children. Our rental was well decorated and very spacious. Was a gated community which we liked. Several rowdy teens (around 15) showed up and were loud and very obnoxious. The grills were not able to be used, which messed us up because we planned to grill for our daughters bday while we were there. We had other family members check in a day after us. There wasn't a lot for our pre-teen daughters to do. Most of the residents were older retired folks, but we still managed to enjoy our stay. We will definitely choose this place again!

the location is nice, but the rooms were old and dated. That is itself is not a problem, but when there are mechanical problems with key things like the AC, that needs attention before it inconveniences guests.

When we arrived we were met by 6 cats outside the office the office area was unkept and had a foul smell. The room we were to stay in was about the same.we were moved to The beach view.This was a very nice building the office clerk was very nice..The condo was excellent .I am not trying to be rude but The Shipwatch needs a make over.We appreciated your willingness to move us. We hope to return next year we loved St Simon Thank you

Perfect for our family

The condo at Shipwatch was a perfect place for our family. The location to the beach and having 2 bedrooms was exactly what our short trip needed. The building and grounds where very nice and the condo was clean and nicely decorated. My one issue was the noise from the upstairs neighbor. It sounded like they were moving furniture all through the night. Luckily, the kids were so tired that it didnt wake them. But I heard it many times during the night. We would stay here again but might request a higher floor.

Really enjoyed my stay

We had a great time! Only thing it the dumpster for the trash is behind the office and is a pretty good walk from the room to take out trash. No hot tub either...... Other than that it is wonderful. Pool was nice and clean and the condo is right on the beach. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We hope to come back!

Love this hotel

The room is clean and cozy. The hotel is convenient to shopping centers. Easy access to the beach. Clean pool and well maintained gardens. We enjoyed the stay very much.

Private beach acces & pool are wonderful. Elevator and carts made moving belongings in and out easy. Door mats would keep sand from being tracked into condo from deck. Wi-fi dropped out too frequently, from several times per hour to several times per minute. I could not depend on it for business or leisure.

Private beach access & great amenities

This trip was a success, thanks to having a quick walk across to the beach, outdoor shower/sprayers to clean up on your way from the beach back into the pool area, bathrooms at the pool, a bathroom for each bedroom, screens on the balcony doors to let in a cool breeze, & a table and chairs for dinner out on the balcony. The building offers bellhop carts and grocery carts to help get all of your stuff up the elevator and to your condo. There is a coke machine, but no ice machine, so use your freezer's ice machine wisely or buy a bag of ice for your cooler. We arrived a few hours before the 4pm check-in, so I called & asked if we could arrive early - the office opened our unit, left the welcome packet with keys & parking pass on the table for us, we didn't have to do anything. When we were leaving, the office was closed, so we left the keys in the dropbox by the office door. When checking out, I noticed a sign that said the office rents out floats & bikes, just FYI. NEGATIVES: The ad/listing does not specify the amount of the "resort fee" which turned out to be around 1/2-2/3 of the daily rate. Just be prepared to have your amount nearly double once you actually begin to book it. That was an unpleasant surprise, but when you consider everything you're getting at this location, the price is still pretty solid. Overall, I'd plan to come back to this location. It has the conveniences of a condo rental and also a few of the benefits of a hotel.

Dated but otherwise perfect

This condo was perfect for our young family. The boardwalk leads straight out to the beach, the pool was nice, and it is within walking distance of a park/playground and a couple of restaurants. The condo itself was dated and the water pressure in the shower could be better. But with two seperate bedrooms and a full kitchen, it really covered all our needs.
