Relaxing Getaway
We've stayed twice and have had wonderful stays both times. It's a very comfortable small cabin near wonderful hiking in Cranberry Wilderness Area.

Wonderfully Quiet
The listing was exactly as described. Additionally, there is no photo of one wall, which contains a sofa, a small chest-of-drawers, and an end table. There is a small closet with room to hang a few things. And there was a patio umbrella (not pictured). Don't expect to use the internet (pack your maps) or be able to watch the water from the cabin. Do expect to be comfortable and rested and in a great location to explore the area. Water access (wading/kayak put in) is available, downhill at end of the driveway. Greenbriar bike trail is on the opposite side of water, so a short drive is needed to access. Marlington had all the necessities we required. Grill is charcoal (charcoal provided). Simple, affordable, friendly, and cozy way to experience Pocahontas County.

Relaxing Stay in a beautiful setting
We could not have found a better place to explore this beautiful part of the world. It was close to the Greenbriar River Trail and we spent a lot of our time on this bike trail. The parking entry point is really close at Buckeye. The cabin was clean and we felt very comfortable there. Carter and Maureen were great hosts! They both went beyond the call of duty to help us with our car trouble. We are very grateful for their kindness. We recommend Watoga State Park where we saw a black bear loping through the woods. And also Beartown State park, so unusually cool! We also rode up to Cass Scenic Railroad State Park and spent time at the Company Store. There is just so much to see and explore in this area, by bicycle or by car. And you have a lovely cabin to come home to at night.

Greenbrier retreat
Perfect location to enjoy some mountain and stream beauty in West Virginia. Had a great time trying out some fly fishing with my son. Hosts were awesome. Wifi and cellphone are a little sketchy but that might not be a bad thing if you're looking to get away.

Nice Secluded Cabin
Nice cabin. Located walking distance to river. Close to sights in/around Marlinton, including Cranberry Glades, Falls of Hills Creek and Highland Scenic Highway. Cass Scenic Railroad is about 35-40 minutes north. Would recommend for those who want to get away for a few days.

Great biking and birding
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was so quiet and relaxing backed up to the woods. We are glad we stayed a couple of days longer than originally anticipated. The amenities were perfect and Carter and Maureen were very considerate hosts. The natural sites of Pocahontas County are breathtaking. The biking and birding along the Greenbriar River Trail was fantastic. We have many happy memories from our stay.

This was a fun stay. The location by the river is great. It was cozy and the hosts were accommodating! It is about an hour from most restaurants / stores , but that was exactly what we expected -- a nice opportunity to recharge!

Wonderful Getaway
The cottage was absolutely wonderful! It was very clean, and Carter checked in on us via phone to ensure we were able to find the property with ease and anything else we needed. We loved the binder that Carter had made that gave extra information about everything in the area. The cottage was in the perfect location! We were able to get to Cranberry Glades, Droop Mountain, Watoga State Park, and Beartown with ease. We are already discussing our next trip to the area! I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Wonderful Stay

Private and cozy
The cabin is up a hill from the river, sitting all alone in the woods. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary and Carter even had a special, unrequested gift waiting for us in the refrigerator! He greeted us personally when we arrived and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. We enjoyed a starlit night and an evening campfire as we listened to the birds and watched the deer in the woods. The cabin is the perfect location to explore the natural beauty of WV. We rode our bikes on the GRT, hiked the Cranberry Glades, the Red Spruce Knob trail, and the Falls on Hills Creek. We highly recommend each one!

Getaway near Marlinton and Greenbrier Trail
The cabin is very comfortable (gas fire insert, AC, kitchen, bathroom with shower) and located about a 12 minute drive from Marlinton. Location is very private and quiet - tucked in the woods. We enjoyed it as a base for exploring the area and renting some bicycles in Marlinton to take on the Greenbrier trail, and would definitely visit again. Our host was very helpful.

Wonderful wilderness getaway
We were very interested in biking the Greenbriar River Trail and this popped up. It is very convenient to the trail just south of Marlinton, WV. Our host, Carter Zerbe was very welcoming and helpful. The cabin itself is lovely: lots of light, very secluded and quiet right on the Greenbrier River. Highly recommended.😁 PS The Greenbrier Trail itself is fabulous.

Quiet peaceful getaway.
The cabin is very nice but on the small side. We arrived earlier than expected and the owners made every attempt to accommodate us. They are warm and friendly and offered us free use of their floatation devices if we wanted to go down the river. There is no TV or cell phone service and the wifi worked for about 5 minutes over the course of 6 days. If you like being unconnected this is the place for you. You can go in town to the local watering holes for wifi if needed. We were out all day riding bikes on the spectacular Greenbrier River Trail which is nearby. The river and trail are very scenic. We were lucky enough to see two Black Bears and dozens of Deer and an assortment of birds, while on the trail. We would certainly go back again.

A Hidden Treasure!
This cabin is tucked away in a private setting, it is a wonderful place to stay. Everything was high quality-- the details of the cabin, and quality of the furnishings. We enjoyed watching the sunrise, sipping coffee on the front porch. We enjoyed having a fire on the back patio, and the gas fireplace inside. This cabin is a delight, a hidden treasure, I'm so glad we stayed here. There is a lot to do in the area. We would love to come back!

A quiet and very peaceful cabin tucked away in the WV hills.
The cabin was perfect for a peaceful getaway. Located near walking/hiking and running trails, fishing, swimming and kayaking or just a float down the beautiful Greenbrier River. Clean, well furnished in a REALLY quiet area. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. But be advised - there is absolutely no cell phone service (which can be a good thing). Carter was a great host. The cottage was clean and easy to get to, just a short walk to the river, and it's only a few minutes from the town of Marlinton if you want to run out for a meal. Hope to return.

Beautiful nice setting up on a hill across the road from the greenbrier river!
Carter and his family were very accommodating. The cabin is set up very nice! It has pretty much everything ya need. Nice gas fireplace, nice shower, very comfortable bed. Kitchen completely furnished. We built a fire up on the hill in the fire pit and there was even wood already cut. We will definitely rent from them again!

Great place to stay!
Really enjoyed our stay! Cabin is very secluded and is located in the woods above the river. The road leading to the river community where the cabin is located is great to walk on, with very little traffic and lots of wildlife. The location was good for our day trips to Seneca Rocks, Cranberry Glades and the Greenbank Observatory. The shower is great, the bed is comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Our hosts had obviously put a lot of thought into making the cabin comfortable, and even stock a nice assortment of books and a first aid kit. I would definitely stay here again!

Great little cabin in the woods
This cabin was perfect for our needs. They had all the utensils and cookware you need to cook simple meals, plenty of comfy furniture inside and out to hang out and relax. The cabin was very clean and in very good repair. As noted in other reviews the wifi was spotty but that did not in any way take away from our enjoyment of this cabin. We booked this as a very last minute trip and Carter was extremely quick to reply to our inquiry. He had a commitment of his own and he still got the cabin ready for us and was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

Cozy Clean Private Cabin
The nice side. Very quiet and comfortable little cabin. The cabin was clean and just right for two people. We are really careful to choose rentals that do not allow pets because we come from farms and do not like animals in the house. We enjoyed meeting with the owner and just chill'n out. The cabin is in a private like community and the neighbors were respectful. From the cabin there are different activities and destinations which are only a few minutes or miles away. We biked the trail and spent some time in Lewisburg. We enjoyed meeting with the owner and just chill'n out. Carter was very helpful and kind. We would definitely recommend this cabin if you want a secluded little getaway. The improvement side. The cabin was not as close to the Greenbrier river and trail as the pictures suggest. The cabin is actually several hundred yards up from the river and behind a line of other main cabins which front the river. This was not a big deal but the pictures sort of gives the wrong impression. We would have spent more time walking along the river and enjoying the water if it would have been closer. The description and pictures should include a very clear explanation that this cabin is off the river several hundred yards on the hill behind other cabins. I really like coffee with cream and sugar but there was no creamer in the cabin that I could find. There is a coffee maker, grinder, fresh beans in the frig and sugar which was great but no creamers or half and half. In summary, do we recommend this cabin, definitely yes. It was almost everything we were looking for and the price was right. You will not be disappointed.
