This review is for Beach Houses of Byron, the company that manages this property, rather than the property itself. The reason being we didn't stay at this property despite booking well in advance of our vacation.
Instead, Beach Houses of Byron rang us 5 months after we booked to let us know that they were cancelling our accommodation. We heard two reasons for this from two different staff members, the first being it had a 5-night minimum which was not depicted when we booked the house (we could only stay for 3), the second being the owners no longer wanted to rent it out. Please beware when booking with this company that they include a right to cancel your booking within the terms and conditions.
Naturally we were extremely upset. The first person I spoke with didn't show much sympathy. Then Rob took over, which was a better experience because he was empathetic, kind and made an effort to ensure we found a reasonable solution.
The company offered an alternative property, which didn't have enough beds for our party of 10, but he made arrangements that were reasonable including a fold out bed and discounted pricing on the substitute accommodation. This made me hopeful that all would be well given the circumstances.
While the substitute property was modern and in a great location, there were a number of issues we experienced upon arrival including uncleanliness and falling short of agreed arrangements that made our stay disappointing.
We cannot recommend booking here.
