Close to Caberfae
Quiet neighborhood, and very close to Caberfae for skiing! Entry into the garage to stash our ski gear! Responsive owner, a great little spot for our family and two dogs! Would be a great spot in Summer with the dock!

Place was clean. There was an issue with the oven not working and the owner called immediately. Check in and out was simple. There is not a cleaning fee because he has you clean the house entirely before you leave. Kitchen was well stocked.

Yes sorry sometimes appliances break. The part was ordered immediately and was repaired asap. The cleaning process works great for my tenants. They complete a list of cleaning tasks that typically takes about 1 hour and they don’t get charged $100-150 cleaning fee my competitors charge. Dozens of repeat renters love this aspect.

2022 Fall Trip
House was as advertised. Great location. Comfortable stay and quiet setting. Nice and friendly neighbors. Fall colors were awesome. Had fun in the water with the watercraft supplied. Downtown was not that far away so we enjoyed some good food too. Dewayne was always in communication and everything went smooth and easy with check-in and out. Love the area. Will be back up there for sure.

Fishing vacation
The house was very easy to find. The check in process was simple. The host was very accommodating because we had some date issues. Someone came during the evening to place the trash bin out to the street and put chunks of concrete in it while we were renting for that week. Didn't appreciate that because we had our boat with all of our fishing gear in the driveway and we felt it was secure. Nothing happened but we know someone was there.

A nice quiet cottage
We found the accommodations to be very nice. The price for the 5-day rental was right too. A canal connected us to Lake Mitchell With the option of using two docs. Overall experience was very good.

Loved the location, very simple to get into the house, use of the dock and firewood was perfect. Wish there was a queen or king size bed in the main bedroom but otherwise a nice stay.

Weekend Wedding Travel
We booked and stayed for out of town wedding. Sadly weather was rainy :( property was located on canal very nice location with kayak and paddle boat. We were able to enjoy couple hours kayak before departure. The place is cute little house (little dated) great for couple people. Would say only complaint which is really not a complaint is that the main room bed was only full size and as we are accustom to king an queen would be a much better fit for the main room( we were aware and stayed anyway). Owner has a very detailed cleaning list which we didnt minds as we clean after ourselves anyway. Was nice and key lock very convenient. Great little place in nice area.

Nice place..... everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Very clean and well stocked. Nice neighborhood around the lake. Parking was ample for truck and boat. Very easy check in and the cleaning requirements were not overwhelming as I would have done most of the things on the list anyway. If I had to critique anything it would be the living room furniture which was very nice it was just very uncomfortable for a small person. Couldn't get comfy in the oversized sofas. I would definitely rent from Dewayne again. He has made sure nothing was overlooked for a great stay!

Great little place in Northern Michigan
Great little place to make your headquarters while visiting Northern Michigan. The backyard leads down to a little channel that gives you access to Lake Mitchell as well as Lake Cadillac. All pots, pans, and dishes you might need are here and there is a nice little deck on which you can sit to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you. There is a washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, and grill for your use which is nice for the nights we chose to stay in for dinner instead of going out. The neighborhood is super peaceful and was nice to take our dog out on morning walks. You are close to Cadillac MI, and about a 50 minute drive to Traverse City, both of which were great to explore. Owner was kind and easy to deal with and clean up was a snap. Would stay again.

The house is in a great spot with a nice yard. We enjoyed our time on the deck barbecuing and playing nighttime cards. House is stocked well with necessities. Overall it worked out well for our group.

Sorry that forks where missing. There was a complete set at the beginning of the season. I have additional utensils in storage, and will have to remedy that issue. Thanks for staying!

Great location, clean, everything you need.
Great location, channel behind house, and view of Lake Mitchell across the street. House was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Free laundry available is a bonus as well as access to canoe and paddle boat, life vests and firewood with fire pit on dock. Short list of cleaning responsibilities helps keep cost of stay down, and with everyone chipping in it was done in no time. If in the area again, would definitely stay here again.

Full Disclosure?
This property is pretty much the way it appears in the pictures, very dated, but clean and the owner has made an effort to provide amenities to enjoy your stay. Unfortunately, we didn't find the closet full of movies until we were leaving and looking for the vacuum. Which brings me to my problem with the property. I ended up finding out right before we left that we were responsible for cleaning the property after our stay. This was NOT mentioned ANYWHERE in the property description. It was mentioned in the fine print of the agreement you sign on line, which I missed. Since we only stayed for the weekend, we didn't want to add the overpriced cleaning fee to our stay, so we ended up cleaning ourselves. I feel this should be clearly explained in the property description, we've used VRBO around a dozen times and have never had this happen before. I assumed the cleaning fee was build into the daily rate, which was my mistake. Also a heads up for anyone bringing a boat, Lake Mitchell is very shallow and has portions in the middle of the lake that are only two feet deep. Be very careful if you're bring anything other than a fishing boat or pontoon. We found an app that helped us navigate the lake, but met a boat owner that needed a $1200 repair to his boat from this lake.

I am just not understanding why a 3 star review was given. According to the review the home is what the pictures showed. The house was clean. There are things provided to enjoy your stay. Unfortunately with the cleaning duties she just didn't pay attention. It is in the advertising and then when a person books they receive a copy of the rental agreement they electronically accept which has a whole section with a detailed list. Then when I email access instructions approximately two weeks prior to their stay it very clearly outlines the cleaning responsibilities and finally if you read reviews you will see it stated many times. Most of my clients love this process because it keeps cost down and doesn't take long. But if you don't want to clean you have the option to pay a cleaning fee instead just as she stated. Lastly, yes Lake Mitchell has a Wonderful Sand Bar where everyone loves to park their boats to get out and swim. It is pretty hard to miss because the water changes color and it seems to regularly have boats parked on it. My seven year old daughter loves us to hang out there. But if you drive over it full speed you can definitely do some damage.

Quaint Cottage
The cottage was well appointed with pretty much everything you will need. The vhs collection and television size was very outdated but it was also kind of fun watching older movies as a family. The description about the amenities was a bit misleading in regards to the water craft available. The cottage is situated at the end of the canal which made it a lengthy paddle to the lake, we should’ve brought a boat. The double bed was not realistic for 2 adults but we knew that going in, if possible, we suggest upgrading to a queen size bed to better accommodate a family. All of the shopping, gas, etc is at a minimum 10 minute car ride away so be prepared for that. Both Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac were beautiful. It’s definitely a quaint, quiet area to spend some time.

Cozy, great location for Caberfae slopes
We had a great time. Home is nice and roomy. We all fit on the couches to watch a movie after skiing! Only complaint was I had to shovel the front porch and walkway to let my dog out. Otherwise, it was lovely.

I’m glad you had a great time! I don’t shovel the front pathway out because I really want guests using the garage entrance with the mud room area to keep snow and salt out of the home.
