"It was a nice place to stay in, we had a room with my husband, daughter, and me. The cleaning people came everyday and they always made sure we were stock with stuff. The check in was a bit difficult but that was on us because we didn’t look at the preregister check in, just make sure to be on top of it. The place was quiet and everyone was respectful with one another. Other than that, the stay was perfect and they have nice cafes/restaurants around the area!"

"The house in Castel St Elia is truly an authentic and unique place, the host is detail oriented, very accommodating and communicative. The house has everything you need, even a mini popcorn machine and dishwasher. We traveled with our dog and cooked dinners at the house and felt very comfortable. The view is amazing, so is access to town, many churches and hiking trails into the valley. If you are a true hiker you can take the 4.5km trail to Nepi which is the neighboring worth visiting."

"Staff were not the most helpful or friendly. Lights didn’t work in the room when we first arrived. Service in the restaurant was very slow. Beautiful property but very far away from anything."

"The hotel was a little out of the way, about 1k from the nearest subway stop, but we booked it because it came with 3 twin beds. Everything about our stay was perfect except that the beds were on the very hard side. This is the only reason I didn't give an all around excellent score. The staff was great once they got to know us and they were willing to go above and beyond in a couple of areas, especially Dominico who seemed to be there all day every day. They always handled our requests for taxis and such with professionalism. I also loved the quietness of the neighborhood. We felt that the inconvenience of the location was outweighed by the local experience we had. If this is your first time booking this hotel I would suggest using a cab to get there from the airport and back. If you have 3 people like we did it was a bargain , about 70EU, and time saver. Also remember that Rome is a city of hills and dragging your luggage and trying to navigate for the first can be daunting. We loved our experience taking the trains but we were glad to take the cab back to the airport in under 45 minutes instead of allowing about 2 hours by train."

"Avoid at all costs. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of this hotel. We ended up leaving the same day and forfeiting our money because staying here simply was not an option. The first red flag was at check-in. The front desk demanded payment of the city tax in cash only, despite many other hotels in the area accepting cards. There is no ATM on-site, so guests are forced to walk a couple blocks before they can even check in. We were also told we could not take our room keys outside and had to leave them at the front desk every time we left. The room was extremely hot, dirty, and poorly maintained. There was splatter on the walls, stains on the sheets and curtains, dirt on the floor, and thick black mold in the shower. The AC did not cool the room down at all in the time we sat in the room. The location did not feel safe, especially at night, and there was constant noise from traffic and honking outside. After seeing the room, we decided to leave that same day. When we asked to check out, the staff became combative and refused any refund or even a partial refund. Only afterward did we notice the many negative reviews describing similar experiences. One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had."
