Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay here as the check in link we were provided did not work. We were unable to reach the host by text, phone, VRBO messaging or through VRBO agents from 4pm on, the day of check in. We had advised the host when we booked that we would be arriving late, and when the check in link would not work prior to our arrival, we attempted to contact the host several times during our travels to Okotoks. We weren’t contacted by the host until12:45pm the next afternoon.We had no choice but to stay in a hotel the night we arrived, as we could not get access to the rental. The next morning due to a lack of vacancies in the area & no contact from the host, we booked a hotel by noon for the remainder of our stay in Okotoks. When we were finally contacted the next afternoon, we were provided the code and told by the host that we could check in but because we had already booked a hotel for the remainder of our stay and at 12:45pm could not cancel the hotel without a penalty, it was of little compensation for what happened. When it came to issuing our refund we once again had to contact VRBO several times to contact the host regarding the refund. We were told by the host it had to be processed manually and it was finally processed 14 days after being requested.The entire experience was frustrating & having to stay in a hotel versus where we had booked and paid to stay was a huge inconvenience and expense.
