It was quiet and isolated. We had a calm, relaxing visit. Although the house is along a road with a high speed limit, the house is completely hidden by trees and it is set very far back from the road. The house is an interesting layout; it's a "Camano Island interpretation" of Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim. There is a central, spiral staircase and as you proceed on the stairs, the rooms are positioned off the sides of the staircase. The very top of the staircase has a funny 360-degree view like a turret or lighthouse.
The kitchen works, although it's limited in utensils and pots/pans. We had enough to make all our meals, but there isn't anything fancy. The door on the microwave was broken. It is a nice microwave, but it took us a while to find a way to get it to work. The door latch is broken, so sometimes the electrical panel wouldn't function or it would display an error message. We'd open and then close, or slightly pull on the handle to get the latch to sense that the door was closed so that the electrical panel could function.
The beach is nice and there is a trail down to the water. It's a steep and "natural" trail to the water. People who have difficulty on stairs or would struggle to scramble over a log would not make it down the trail. If you like trail walks though, the beach is quite lovely.
