Was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the facilities and restaurants. Good food selection. The beach area was always clean and beautiful beach and sand. Nice touch to have a mobile cart serving drinks poolside.

Everything at the resort was fantastic! However, one very odd thing was that they were so strict on food, sitting groups together and you could only eat in specific designated areas. If you wanted to take some food from the buffet up to your room, they would not let you leave and the property, it doesn’t offer room service, and sometimes people cannot leave the room, but need to eat.

Riu Caribe was spotless. My room and the entire resort was always clean and prestine. They have a fleet of people constantly cleaning. Staff is always polite and provided any assistance I needed. Food was OK, not great. There were lots of options. Drinks were all bottom shelf alcohol. I would have paid more for an option with top shelf. Two things I would change were how and when they cleaned the pools. The workers get in and clean the scum/suntan lotion that gets along the wall of the pool every day, but they wait until 9 am when people are using the pool. Do it earlier when you don't have to ask people to move out of the way to clean. Second, glasses are apparently cleaned with some sort of bleach and that's fine, but one was still wet and ruined a new shirt with bleach stains that dripped from the glass.

Wonderful stay with my husband for our honeymoon trip.Very beautiful hotel! Except food and drinks are very much watered down. The food is decent no flavor. By the end of 7 days vacation our poor stomachs were upset and unhappy.Plus be prepared not to sleep at night when party is continuing until 4 am in the morning. Loud music and drunk loud people yelling outside. Otherwise our stay was satisfying.

I liked everything! Clean, good food, very close to the ocean and the ocean had no waves!! It was very nice stay. The only thing I didn’t like was that the stuff in the buffet didn’t have gloves and wood take food with their hands.

I had really high expectations coming to this property. My check in was a flop, room not ready, long day of travelling. My vip status meant nothing, and the gave me a horrible room. The room flooded out 2 days later. I had to pack out in the morning and wait hours for the next room. They really aren’t very empathetic there. I never felt like a valued guest, and problems I had were not important. As someone who visits the area up to 5 times a year, I have never felt less important, and belittled as a four day stay at this resort was. I won’t be back to any RIU, anywhere for any reason. Not because of facilities or amenities, but because the staff is not a group of people I prefer to ever have to deal with when I spend top dollar on travelling.

The resort was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food tasted good, but was very low quality. It left our stomachs feeling bad most of the week. There is no room service. There is no waiter services at the pool areas or beach areas. The liquor was also very low quality which made it hard to get your moneys worth in drinks. We won’t be staying at the Riu Caribe again but it was not an awful experience. We just wished the food & liquor were better quality.

Beautiful property with helpful staff! The beach is gorgeous and it’s a short drive to most of the city. The room was in good shape and was exactly what I asked for; however there is no soundproofing from the hallway and we were woken several times by rowdy guests. The shower has good pressure and temperature but unfortunately the water smells very unpleasant. The buffet (Coral) was very good and we were never disappointed with the food there or the service from staff (loved Antonio!). We only got to try three of the four restaurants—ironically our least favourite was the Mexican restaurant, but we liked both the steakhouse and the Asian restaurant. We would stay here again!

Very impressed with this resort. Very well-kept, with no major shortcomings that I can think of. It didn’t have traditional resort entertainment, which is a huge plus – instead, they had amazing parties every other day, that were very extravagant. The RIU night party was very impressive, with foam, dancers, and lots of interaction for the partiers. Technically, our room had ants at one point, but the staff dealt with it pretty quickly.
