Meanwhile, adults can unwind in the upper-level living room, boasting a cozy fireplace, vaulted wood-plank-and-beam ceiling, and ample seating for gatherings and movie nights.



    Preparing meals is a breeze in the fully-equipped kitchen with a convenient gas range, while outdoor grilling awaits on the deck with a barbecue, perfect for enjoying sunset dinners with stunning western horizon views.



    With sleeping accommodations on both the main and upper levels, guests can choose their preferred spot to rest and rejuvenate. However, the coveted perch is undoubtedly the queen bedroom in the spacious, vaulted third-floor loft, offering a peaceful retreat high above the treetops.



    Despite its close proximity to upscale groceries and the wide-open spaces of Tolovana Park beach, Hemlock surrounds you with lush greenery for a touch of shady privacy. Just two blocks away, you'll find beach access, and a scenic mile-long walk along the sand will lead you to the iconic Haystack Rock.

    PROPERTY DETAILS:



    We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.



    PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $100 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $300 (3 pets). Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. Failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. **

Great location, lots of space for kids. Outdated appliances and decor, broken blinds, dirty windows, no door on master bedroom, broken lock on 2nd bedroom, appliances blocking cabinets in kitchen, nothing to wash dishes with.

Hemlock house

Nicely located home in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the beach. A nice grocery store a short distance away. Loved the five bedrooms in the house and great views of the forest in the back of the house. Cannon Beach a few minutes drive from the house which is a quaint village with good restaurants and stores. Lots of hiking and beaches in the area and Haystack Rock had awesome tidal pools and lots of common murres and even tufted puffins. Very friendly people. Happy to revisit. A little wear and tear in the house but was not an issue for us.

The house is not "posh" but very clean and comfortable, cozy looking beach house. Our family loved it. Bedrooms were well made with fresh linens and quilts; My granddaughter loved the "loft". We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Kitchen is well equipped with coffee makers, toasters, microwave oven and basic needs for a short family vacation. There are two areas for family's gathering: living room next to dining area and family room with games on the ground floor. My family stayed mostly in the living room because it is bright and convenient. My children and grand children did go down stair to play games. I highly recommend the place for a vacation for a large group / family - six to eight people vacation, convenient for adults and teen agers.

Unfortunately the house was just very dated and old. Stairs still raw wood, The kitchen was barely usable, so small, refrigerator backwards, some cupboards unusable, everything so old. Had decent appliances and pots and skillets. Bedding so old , beds uncomfortable . Maybe one grade above camping. Not an all living up to my expectations while paying a lot of money. Would never stay there again.

The host was amazing and quick to answer any questions I had. Their provided reading materials and various board games provided much needed entertainment when we weren't out and about. We were especially grateful for the surplus bedding and the quality of hot water. Lastly, access to a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and the supplied detergents made the stay everything we needed it to be.The checkout process couldn't have been more simple and straight forward.

Comfortable and Spacious

We enjoyed staying at this property. We loved that there were three floors, so the family had room to spread out.The light coming through the large windows on the main floor was wonderful. The property was easy to locate, and having two parking spots was much appreciated.

Great place for a big family

Like how cozy and clean the house is and the amount of space it has. Also how it’s a 4 minute walk from the beach, The dishwasher was broken but communicated to us before our arrival. We will most definitely be staying there in the future it had everything we needed.

Great place!

We stayed here for our annual cousins gathering, and this house was great! It was clean, cozy, had plenty of room for everyone, and it was an a convenient location to access the beach. It had everything you needed in the kitchen. I loved that it had a washer and dryer! I would highly recommend this place!

Fun with friends

Our stay at the Hemlock House was wonderful! It very comfortably fit two families with kids, who spent much of the time when not at the beach playing foosball, doing puzzles (the house has many puzzles and books), and playing hide and seek. The gas fireplaces are very cozy, and the adults even spent a night watching a movie on Apple TV. The kitchen is small but well stocked with tools, including crackers for crab, nice pots and pans, and sharp knives. The beach is a 5 minute walk away with easy access. It is definitely a well loved older home with minor wear issues - which with children, I appreciate not having to worry about spilled milk or a scuff on the floor. I very much appreciated that the flooring was all hard (no carpet), and my tree and weed allergies were not an issue there. I would not hesitate to return in the future.

There was a gas leak in the house. We couldn’t use the stove and oven as the gas company came and shut off the gas to the stove. None of the smoke detectors worked as the batteries were dead. I replaced the batteries.

Cozy House WALKING distance to beach

Our stay was relatively good. No real issues with the property. The dishwasher wasn’t working, which was communicated on the day of check in. It was a little last minute, but still understandable. We loved that we were within walking distance of the beach, and only a short 5 minute drive to downtown Cannon Beach. This felt like staying at an older relative’s house. It’s cozy, but it’s got its own quirks.

The house was not clean and that made it difficult to be at ease during our stay. It was very dusty. Several things were broken, the most obvious was a headboard hanging down from one of the beds. The furniture and building materials of the house were either very old, or made of some inexpensive material.

Place is a little bit run down, pictures are deceiving. On top of that, we had a severe issue involving a gas leak that required the gas to be shut off for half our stay - we couldn’t shower, cook or do laundry. We understand things happen but the property management handled it very poorly. I still haven’t received any type of credit or compensation back and VRBO is no help either. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere
