Little oasis of calm

We had a highly enjoyable stay at Jean-Pierre and Basanti's place. They have almost singlehandedly created a little oasis of calm in the hills, right down to planting all the grass, trees, vegetables and plants on the property; as well as building both houses!It was more like being hosted by family than a commercial transaction. As well as being on-hand to make sure we had everything we needed, the hosts were incredibly tolerant and welcoming of our children wanting to run around, explore, and participate in their outdoor work.Other reviewers noted the pool is a short walk from the house. This is a definite plus with small children.We'd definitely stay agin.

pure relaxation

We had a wonderful time in this very nice and clean house. Everything we needed for our three-week vacation was available so that we could fully concentrate on exploring the area. And it has a lot to offer. Caves and gorges, Cathar castles, vineyards, the sea... What more could you want? There's also a wonderful pool to cool off in the heat. An idyllic and relaxing experience

We wanted a chilled, relaxed and lazy holiday in a beautiful environment at a spacious and comfortable villa, we got this and more. Jean Pierre and Basanti were the most welcoming and attentive of hosts. The location is superb, with views to the Pyrenees on a clear day and a large garden that encourages a wide range of amazing butterflies. The pool is well tended and has spacious new decking and furniture for relaxing. The villa is very comfortable, with all the amenities needed and stays cool when the weather is hot. Limoux is a short distance away by car, with a huge Leclerc for supplies and lots of affordable restaurants. We have been to France on holiday many times and this was the best, it ticked all the boxes and we will be returning. Thank you Jean Pierre and Basanti!

A real gem

Villa Rani is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting on the edge of a small village. It has a light and airy feel and is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very good standard. Having access to an immaculately maintained swimming pool is a further attraction. The garden around the villa has a natural feel and there are numerous places for sitting and outdoor eating. The friendly and helpful owner was there to welcome us on our arrival and, although ready to provide assistance if needed, left us to ourselves throughout our stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Rani and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Delightful Eco Property

Amazing ecological bungalow in its own well laid out gardens. Very spacious, plenty of room to move around in, well planned out. Plenty of cupboard space with hangers. Useful kitchen with fridge, oven with electric hob., microwave electric kettle and toaster etc. We slept well waking up to glorious weather, with only one wet day in four weeks. There is a E.Leclerc supermarket in Limoux which sells just about everything, just a few miles away. Our favourite town was the medieval town of Mirepoix with it’s magnificent Church. The scenery and views are stunning all around the Midi Pyrenees. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday. Needs some TLC

Excellent location overlooking the village of Donazac. Nice to have seating and tables on 3 sides of the property and the pool area was a delight: clean, well-kept and spacious, even it was some 50 metres from the house and had to be accessed over a neglected area of garden with an uneven surface and some dangerous holes along the way. As for the outside area of the property and the kitchen, they looked loke they needed some tender loving care by the owners: weeds were growing through the gravel areas, plants were overgrown and obstructing the paths, one recliner chair near the house was torn, both recliners around the pool had seen better days. Being warned to be careful when sliding the door of a wardrobe in the hall because they might fall off is not reassuring!! The kitchen equipment and utensils looked like they had been randomly sourced from a charity shop/FRIP. Many were stained so our first job was to make sure they were clean by loading the dishwasher on our first night and wiping down the cupboard doors and worktops. In this age of COVID, surfaces that are sticky to touch provide no reassurance that they have been properly cleaned. There was no welcome-pack. Perhaps all small things but they are not up the the standard that we have come to expect of VRBO properties. The indications are there that more care and attention needs to be taken in maintaining the fabric and the cleanliness of this property.

L’hébergement est tout à fait conforme à l’annonce. La propreté est irréprochable. Le logement très spacieux et il y règne un calme absolu. Sa localisation permet d’accéder facilement à de nombreux sites de visite. La région est magnifique loin du tumulte touristique. Jean pierre et sa femme sont chaleureux, de très bons conseils. Vue la chaleur de cette été, la piscine a été salvatrice. L’hygiène de celle ci est impeccable. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, et remercions encore chaleureusement nos hôtes. Fantastisch

Wir haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub in diesem Haus verbracht. Es hat all unsere Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt – genauso schön wie auf den Bildern und in der Beschreibung. Besonders gefallen hat uns der Blick über das kleine Dorf und der tolle Pool.Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt! Einkaufen ist mit dem Auto in ca. 20 Minuten möglich, und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten – wie z. B. Carcassonne – sind gut erreichbar (ca. 45–60 Minuten).Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und kommen wieder!

Location très propre et bien aménagée. Piscine très agréable et à l'abri des regards .Conforme à la description et aux photos. Les hôtes sont vraiment très sympathiques, à l'écoute, de bons conseils pour les visites sans être envahissants. De nombreux sites de visite à proximité (Carcassonne, Espéraza,, rennes le Château, collioure) a faire pour les amoureux des sites naturels : les cascades du moulin de Ribaute. We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in het huis. De gastheer en vrouw geven je veel privacy en als je hen nodig hebt, zijn ze er meteen om je te helpen. Het zwembad is zeker een pluspunt, maar ons jongste dochtertje van 2 jaar vond het net iets te fris. We hebben een fijne vakantie gehad in Donazac.

Tranquillité

La propriété d'1 hectare se situe en pleine nature avec une belle vue dégagée, c'est le royaume du calme et du silence. La maison est agréable, tant à l'intérieur que dehors, où il y a plusieurs terrasses au choix selon les heures et le temps. Plein de sites intéressants à visiter alentour, des marchés locaux sympa, pour faire les courses environ 15mn de petites routes sinueuses jusqu'à Limoux. Les propriétaires qui vivent à côté sont discrets et charmants. La cerise sur le gâteau : les massages ayurvédiques de Basanti, moments merveilleux et apaisants. En résumé, un séjour très relaxant !

Peaceful home in rural France

We enjoyed the rural location close to wonderful hiking trails and mountain views. Wonderful bakeries and stores were only a 20 minute drive on gorgeous, but narrow and winding roads. Jean Pierre was available to answer any questions, but did not interfere with our stay. The spacious home has a lovely garden and outdoor patios. We did not use the pool during our stay in October, but it was available.

Rural and peaceful

Very quiet and peaceful. More rural than expected, it is a 20 minute drive to shops on narrow but pretty roads. Practical points - more cutlery and crockery is needed and the lovely pool is the otherside of the owners property. We enjoyed our stay.
