Beautiful home with a fantastic owner

I honestly don't think I can do this house or the surrounding area justice in words, this house is everything it looks like in the photos plus more! I booked this house as we were over to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday in nearby Limoux. We were a party of five adults and one six year old boy, he was most excited about the pool, well we all were! The house is beautifully decorated and the lounge and kitchen/diner area is huge, off this is a balcony area where we would spend the evening playing cards and star gazing. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully designed and the bathrooms are to the same high standard. Behind the house and up a short path you come to the swimming pool and beyond that is more garden space with trees to provide shade. The pool area is lovely and we spent many hours in and around it whilst enjoying the warm sun. This is only topped off by the morning stroll into the town for fresh bread and croissants! Mary as a host cannot be faulted. Fantastic customer service from the moment I booked the property, great communication and whilst we were at the property she responded very quickly to any little queries or questions we had. We found the house spotlessly clean on arrival and the description on the site was spot on. I can't recommend this property enough, whether you want to just chill out and lounge round the pool, or use it as a base to explore the surrounding area, it is perfect......I just wish it was my home!

Très belle location

Grande maison parfaitement équipée. L'absence de climatisation est compensée par le fait que toutes les chambres sont équipées de moustiquaires il est donc possible de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes la nuit. La grande piscine est très appréciable cependant nous n'avons pas pu en profiter comme nous l'aurions souhaité car il y avait beaucoup de moustiques même en journée. Très bonne communication avec Mary toujours reactive à répondre à nos sollicitations.

Great view, nicely appointed

Modern, well laid out villa above the town. View of mountains with plenty of space. Driveway is interesting but that's the only downside. Loved walking to the artisan boulangerie...

A large and well equiped house with amazing views

The house is comfortable and spacious and the pictures on VRBO accurately reflect the property. The views from the terrace and the pool were amazing and we very much enjoyed sitting out on the covered terrace. The house is very well equiped with everything you would need for a holiday. The check in process was very flexible (key safe) and it was nice to be greeted with a few food essentials on our arrival so we could make a cuppa and have a snack when we arrived in the evening. The town of Couiza itself has several very good restaurants if you do not want to cook and we eat in 3 of them and there was a local shop and bakers if you didnt want to drive the short distance to the local supermarket. It was a great base to explore the region Pyrennes castles, gorges and of course Carcassonne but it was also just wonderful to laze on the terrace or by the pool and admire the stunning views. Would throughly recommend the property to others.

Maison très agréable et très fonctionnelle , bien équipée. Piscine agréable, pièces spacieuses avec une belle vue sur le village de Couiza. Point de départ idéal pour rayonner dans la région: Châteaux Cathares (Montségur ***), Canoë sur l'Aude, Carcassonne, Mirepoix, Terra Vinea, Narbonne, les plages de Port Leucate, Rennes le Château et l'abbé Saunière, le labyrinthe vert de Nebias...

Beautiful and spacious house, cleverly designed

New, spacious, cleverly designed house. Large garage und balcony. Excellent pool. Close to bakery (2), bars and restaurants. Mary was very friendly and helpful. Great location for hiking, cycling and getting away from it all. Thank you very much we hope to return some time.

Great place for a large family to stay.

This is a great property for a large family to stay (there were five of us) as it has plenty of space, is very well equipped, nice & quiet with very comfortable beds so everyone gets a good night’s sleep! There are good views from the house across the valley and Couiza is well situated for day trips out towards either the coast, the mountains or historical towns such as Carcassonne. We stayed in early April, so the pool was not yet available, but we certainly appreciated the underfloor heating which made the house very comfortable in the rather cool days during our stay. Unlike some other property owners on HomeAway, the owner was also very quick to respond to our very last-minute booking enquiry, so all good :-)
