Carmel Family Getaway
We have stayed in this house since 2019 around Veteran’s Day weekend to celebrate the life of my husband, who we lost 5 years ago. We love this house as it is our family’s place of comfort and peace. Love the location and it being a quiet neighborhood. My only suggestion would be to replace the refrigerator and replace the broken taped Keurig coffee maker for the nightly rental price of the house.

Great Stay
This is our second stay in the Carmel house and it is still a perfect spot! The view, neighborhood and especially the proximity to the quiet beach can't be beat. Ants seem to be a problem in the house which isn't the owners fault. Ant traps are placed throughout the house. The only downside is that the appliances need replacement. The coffee maker had basic tape to hold a long crack in the carafe and the microwave's lining was broken which felt unsafe. For the cost of the rental, I would have hoped these would be replaced or fixed. The manager did note that these items would be fixed in the future which is good. Can't wait to come back again!

Beautiful location
This house is all about the location! We loved sipping our morning coffee while looking at the ocean, as well as enjoying the view while prepping in the kitchen or snacking on the side deck. The property is in a quiet neighborhood, so we loved listening to the birds while relaxing in the hot tub, and the peacefulness all around. It was a very short walk to some lovely trails where we could admire the scenic ocean as well as the many sea birds in the area as we walked. The house itself is also full of lovely and interesting artwork that we had spirited and fun discussions about throughout the weekend. It is also located where it was so easy to get anywhere we needed to - for groceries, dining, etc. Pictures don't really do the place justice, it was simply lovely!

Beautiful House with Views
We absolutely loved our second stay in this home! It was very comfortable for 6 people in our family, with beach chairs and close proximity to walk to two beaches in two different directions. The back deck and hot tub are also a refuge from a long day’s activities. The crashing waves are in view from many of the windows. The neighborhood is very quiet and one of our most favorite vistas in Carmel. The property owner was super helpful, kind, and responsive when we had a few questions at check-in. We will definitely be back again!

We enjoyed our family weekend stay. The house is well appointed, jacuzzi and backyard were beautiful with visits from friendly neighborhood bunnies. Great short walking path to the beach from the house and the owner could not have been nicer. Looking forward to our next visit here!

We were fortunate to have clear skies in the evening and enjoyed the sunsets. We loved this house set up and it's location. The art on the walls was very interesting. I would stay here again on my next visit to the area.

Just right for our family...
We have stayed at this lovely Carmel Meadows home twice, and both times we enjoyed our stay very much. The house is a perfectly situated for beach access and other Carmel activities. The house is well equipped with very comfortable bedrooms and overall enjoyable living. We will stay again.

Lovely home in amazing location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It is located in a nice neighborhood a block from the most beautiful beach. At low tide, the tide pooling is really great. The house is colorful and comfortable with three bedroom suites. The kitchen is large and has the bare basics like olive oil and salt/pepper. There is a house across the street that is under construction so there were trucks parked everywhere, but they weren’t noisy and it didn’t bother us. We specifically looked for a house with a hot tub. Our only complaint is that the water in the hot tub smelled a bit funky and felt slimy. It needs a good cleaning. The teenagers didn’t mind though! We would definitely rent this house again.

The house itself was very well equipped, with three large bedrooms, all with on-suite baths (we only used two.. as we were just 2 couples) and televisions. The kitchen was large and well equipped with many pots/pans for cooking as well as some spices, paper products, etc.. The family/living room was large and offered great views of Carmel bay, had a large TV for watching movies as well as an assortment of books and puzzles, which was helpful for some inclement weather we experienced. The location is great for easy quick access to Big Sur, walk to the beach, quick drive to downtown Carmel, Monterey and Pebble Beach. We have stayed in many homes through VRBO, and our overall complaint with this house was the cleanliness. While the bedrooms and baths had fresh clean linens, the kitchen (especially appliances) were not clean. We had to wash down the refrigerator shelves (which could use a deep cleaning) as well as the coffee maker; and the oven and toaster oven were also in need of a deep cleaning. The property also prominently advertises the hot tub, which was nice and appeared new, however, it was also not clean. Upon opening the cover, there was a yellow film over the entire tub, which scared us, so unfortunately we didn't use. The floater which was supposed to house chemicals/chlorine was empty. There was also no instruction booklet at the house. Most rental houses I've ever been to have an instruction book, which tells you specifics on how to use certain things (like the hot tub), where to put the trash, what day the pickup is, etc.. The addition of something like this would be helpful for future guests. We reached out to the property manager about the trash, as the outside receptacle was full and it appeared a critter had gotten in. She told us that the trash day was Thursday (the day of our departure), but that she wouldn't be able to get over there until after we left. We did our best to clean up the mess from the critter, and took the cans to the street, but there was still quite a mess left behind (which we think is above and beyond to ask a guest to clean up). Overall, we made due, and had a fantastic time. This is a great house, but it is just in need of some TLC.

Beautiful comfy home
This house was great for our stay. We had one bedroom for myself, husband, and 6 year old; another for my parents; and the last one for my sister. They have a wonderful large living room for hanging out. Despite the weather we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and to the beach during breaks in the rain. We also visited Point Lobos which is great for short hikes with a young kid.

The home has been lovingly And meticulously restored or remodeled. Wonderful views. Great landscaping, full of bird life. We didn’t find a lot of directions about where and how to do the garbage, recycling but managed without a problem. We didn’t use the hot tub or the outdoor fireplace but probably would’ve enjoyed them. Kitchen was well stocked. We very much enjoyed the artwork, which is nicely hung and displayed throughout the house. It was a great stay!

Wonderful family gathering.
We celebrated Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay at this home. Lots of room and kitchen was perfect for making dinner. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Location is perfect for getting to river beach and lots of paths to walk. Great vacation weekend..

Lovely house, great location
The house was very conveniently located if you want to be in the Carmel area. It was perfect for our needs as we were 3 family couples attending wedding events for the weekend, and the house has virtually 3 master bedrooms. Two of the rooms have access to the outdoors, and there is a lovely large living area that overlooks the ocean in the near distance that also has a balcony for sunny days. It was not directly on the ocean which was preferable to me as I love open windows at night but not an unending roar from the ocean. There is a small seating area for 3 just outside the kitchen. There is a large shopping center just down the road, with groceries, boutiques, and great restaurants. Excellent vacation rental.

The Best Carmel Getaway!
We loved our stay at this property. We have stayed in Carmel by the Sea before, but this Carmel Meadows property is our favorite. The home was spacious, comfortable, light, bright, and had a great view. We enjoyed checking out the homeowners' eclectic art in each room, and it was so much nicer than a "bland", generic hotel. The best part of our stay was the location. To be able to walk through the neighborhood, and down to the ocean, was a treat. And such a short drive to the conveniences and restaurants of the Crossroads, the Barnyard, etc. We will definitely stay here again.

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay in Carmel Meadows at this beautiful, spacious, art filled home. The location is perfect - close to Carmel, Carmel Valley, and Big Sur - and offers easy walks along the beach, dips in the hot tub, and views of the ocean from the decks, kitchen, and living room. The owners were very responsive and we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

TV just needed a good "reboot"
I guess as part of locking down the often-frustrating device miscommunication between the home theatre system and the tv system-- the regular remote was locked up-- so we couldn't enjoy a movie later in the evening when we discovered the audio wasn't working. The serene location inspires you not to bother with the tv much, anyway; so, we took it all well, and just got in the Spa to take in nature outside as our entertainment.

Lovely property but some problems
The house and space around it are great. Located within a short walk to Carmel River Park beach. Also there's a nice walk along side the ocean. The house has lovely outdoor and indoor spaces and it's clean. Beds are nice. The reasons for only 3 stars are that we were given the wrong phone number for the property manager so it took her 3 days to respond (she saw an email from us) and then she was out of town so I had to go shopping for a propane tank, and a sponge. They don't seem to have anyone to take out and bring in the garbage bins when she is away. But most importantly, the hot tub didn't look super clean the day we arrived and there were no tabs in it. One of us found the tabs after the second day, but by then the hot tub had brownish water and our 10 year old got ear infections and hair follicle infections. Two days before we left the TV stopped working and there were no instructions for it. There were no instructions for the lock but we figured that out pretty easily. There were some ants but not bad.

We rented the house to celebrate a couple of family members who were recently granted degrees. We were six adults and the house was a perfect fit. The house is spacious and well laid out. A large kitchen with a great island around which to gather. The front deck affords you a wonderful ocean view. The back deck also delivers with a private yard and hot tub! Would certainly rent again.

Fabulous Stay!
Everything was perfect. This was a family get-together, getting together finally with our fully vaccinated adult children. Location right at the meadow trails, with the beaches within walking distance, short drive to town...we even walked the beach into town once -maybe 20 minutes? Wow! The house was perfect for three couples - each bedroom equally nice with a queen or king bed. Beautifully furnished. Loved the original set. Smart design that maximized the views of the meadow and coast. Dining table and family room seating was roomy and accommodated our entire group. The outdoor spaces were really wonderful. Very private house, with walkable and inviting neighborhood. A gem! We’ll be back!!!

Great Christmas getaway
This was fantastic property for the holiday for my family with 4 high school/ college age children. We loved being a quick walk to the beach and a quick drive to grocery, Point Lobos, Monterey and Pacific Grove. Easy drive to Big Sur. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to still make holiday meals and cookies even while away. Beautiful artwork and views. Loved the fireplace. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub did not work.

Great location needs updates
We enjoyed the location of this house. It was close to the beach, trails and Carmel. The layout of the home is fantastic too. The kitchen was well equipped. We would recommend the owner do some deep cleaning of the carpets and furniture, Give instructions to when to put the garbage out, Have propane tanks filled and make sure the hot tub is working. Fortunately we had someone who could fix it for us in our group. Also the on-site contact is not responsive, we called her for help with the hot tub, left a message and never heard back. We also found that the beds are very firm which was challenging for those of us with back issues. The location makes this a great house linens and furniture need to be upgraded to meet the quality of location. 5 star rating with nice pillows, duvet covers and clean living room furniture.

House and location great, cleanliness was an issue.
Location and views of water and beach A+ and a close walk to a great beach. The house is pretty, spacious for our group of 5 (lots of seating inside and out) with beautiful landscaping. Issues - we were not made aware that The hot tub was broken and when we inquired about the issue, we were told it would be serviced after our departure. Other issues - stained carpets, dirty cabinets under kitchen and utility room sinks, towels in dryer upon arrival - not sure if they were dirty or clean, hair in showers, and non- stick cooking pans were peeling. We are noting the cleanliness issues so that the owners can address them with their cleaning partners as this is a great house with lots of good amenities.

We had a great stay here for a Quarantine getaway as we wanted a place to get outdoors. Perfect spot for what we wanted, spent a day in Carmel by the Sea, one in Big Sur and the next at Point Lobos. Only issue was the hot tub had not been tended to in awhile and that was one of the reasons we booked this property, but all in all would highly recommend!

Carmel Meadows it’s a great neighborhood. The views from this home are beautiful. The beach is a short walk away. The home itself is laid out well. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this home for a vacation rental. There is a house being demolished directly across the street. There is also a new home being built behind the house. The noise level makes it impossible to enjoy the outdoor space. Upon arrival there was yard waste strewn across the front walkway. This remained for three days. The inside of the home is not well-kept. There is no attention to detail. The furniture is older and stained. The carpeting is dirty. The linens are of poor quality. The kitchen is not equipped well. There are pans that have the Teflon scratched off. All kitchen items had to be washed prior to use to ensure cleanliness. The TV system did not work properly. The manager was not responsive to our questions regarding the use of the TV. There are no screens on windows or kitchen slider. Fresh air cannot be allowed in without insects coming in as well. There are no drapes in the master bedroom which faces the neighbor’s home. On the fourth day of our stay, the first day the smoke from the fires was not terrible, a landscape group came into the backyard and worked all day long cutting down plants and trees. They were in the yard going back-and-forth to their truck with debris from 10 AM until 5 PM. We had no privacy at that time. I am sorry to share this poor review. This home should not be considered until the rugs and furniture are properly cleaned and the linens, pillows, towels and damaged cooking items are replaced. The house demolition and the construction across from and directly behind this house should be completed before a quiet, clean and restful vacation can be considered.
