"The Cairn hotel is an older hotel, and in need of updating in places, I found the staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I had a small single room, which was adequate for my needs. But I did notice a couple of small areas in the ensuite shower room where it looked as though repairs had been left unfinished. There was no health and safety issue, as far as I could see, but it just looked like it needed finishing. My room, and the areas of the hotel I experienced (lobby, bar, restaurant) were all impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable. ✅️ The breakfast was excellent 👌 The two evening meals I ate were tasty, but I was a little disappointed that when I went down for dinner on the Sunday evening they had run out of the roast dinner. But it was very busy. A big plus for me was that a very reasonably priced packed lunch was provided on request. "

"Highly interesting things to see and do in the lobby area (chess! books!), as well as the art and historical lithographs adorning the walls in hallways and in our room. Wonderful accommodations. And so close to the railway station and fun restaurants, including The McGregor Bar."

"Lovely and very accommodating staff. Good location albeit up the hill from town centre if walking. Large clean room for what I paid with fridge in the room. Nice bed and hot shower. What more can you ask for. Would have happily stayed there for a week. Perfect stay. Thank you guys!! "
