Host tried to increase booking by 40% - Arrogant, inflexible, unaccommodating and penny pinching
At the beginning of December I booked this 2 bedroom apartment for my family ski trip over Christmas on a tight budget I had selected this property even though it was over our budget.
I had been searching on this site and others and made my decision based on price.
I stated in my booking message it was for my wife and 2 children which was why I booked the 2 bed apartment.
Shortly afterwards I had a booking message from VRBO saying with this host their maybe an extra charge for family members which surprised me.
After chasing up VRBO 3times and 2 weeks later I had a message from them saying the owners wanted to put the booking up by 40% for my 2 children sleeping in the other room!!!!
Furthermore I wanted to seek clarity so I asked if we reduced the time we stayed at the property what would the charge be and they responded with if you come with your children for any of the nights the full increase of charges will apply for the whole stay of the booking.
As a result we never went to this place as i would not ruin my Christmas to stay with such arrogant and inflexible hosts.
