Stunning unobstructed views, from the lighthouse to beyond the Matakona

Get away from it all and enjoy the spectacular views - whether to get out there and do it, or just to relax and enjoy the location. This roomy little ocean front cottage boasts a view of the whole Mataikona bay.
Located right at the entrance of deliverance cove you're close to everything this iconic location has to offer.
Located just a short walk from the Holiday Light; Deliverance Cove Track and the reef. Just down the road is the Castlepoint shop and beach.
Just 2 hours from Wellington, Castlepoint is a spectacular year round holiday destination; be it for a summer break at the beach or a winter getaway to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Special conditions:
Pets allowed with prior approval. Very well-behaved dogs are welcome but owners are requested to ensure that they clean up after them.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Magic spot, amazing views, and our dog had the best time chasing the hundreds of rabbits around the property. House itself was left dirty by previous people including sand on the bed, so we cleaned it first and again on leaving.

Second time we stayed. We just love the location, views and being able to bring the pooch. Bach was very clean but be aware you need to bring everything, no tea, oil or salt and pepper or any basics.

This place is a wonderful spot right on the beach. If the owner spent some on a few basic items to update things it would be a 5 star stay. She shower has a constant drip once the Mains are on. Also the toilet seat is very small compared to the actual toilet. And also the curtains need fixing, but they did warn us about those.

Absolutely stunning- we had a great stay. Lots of action all around our birdseye view. Lovely walks and very peaceful too. Only downside was no tea, coffee, salt or pepper. Definitely would love to stay again

Location, location, location but unfortunately not much else. Traditional kiwi bach in a great place but tired, run down and feeling unloved. (Broken kitchen door, toaster not popping up, microwave kept tripping the circuit breaker, Ill fitting curtains, rickety dining chair, loose toilet seat, dripping shower head)No basic provisions, salt, pepper or tea making.Different bed than photo, no bed head so unable to sit up in bed. Given the total cost ended up at about 280 a night, this did not feel like good value for money.

Mid Winter/Matariki get away

We have stayed at Windsong many times over the last 6 years.Its location and views are awesome but the closeness to the beach is the real winner. We probably spend 50% of the time out and about, day or night!This bach is what a good bach should be, simple. If you want your high end top of the range accomodation with shiny object and all the creature comforts of a 5star then this isn't for you. This bach is for people who appreciate "going to a bach" and simply slowing down.Will be back.

This kiwi bach is amazing – it's very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay. The location is indeed stunning, you can’t get a better view. Fish & chips at the local shop is a must. We loved it here and will definitely be back (also great that we could bring our dog with us).

Unequalled vista

Hi we only had one night here sadly. I’m from Christchurch and was with Wellington family. We had never ventured here before and wow the view is unmatched. Our favourite moments were wandering the nearby track to the lighthouse at sunset and enjoying breakfast on the deck (which is right in the shore) as the sun streamed in. Owner was very helpful and was open to hearing our suggestions on some tweaks. Comfortable beds and couch with a well supplied kitchen.

Happy place

LOVED our stay here and I will book again. Just a perfect location, close to beach to walk the dog, climb to the lighthouse. Out of the way so you have no clue what is going on in the rest of Castlepoint. I was a little concerned that there seemed no way to contact the host should anything go wrong.....which it didn't. But it disconcerted me a little. Won't stop me coming back. I could live there forever.
