Incredible stay

Cannot wait to go back. House was bigger and nicer in person and extremely clean. Our entire group said they want to stay here again. Will always stay at an AvantStay from now on!

A great stay

We were 2 families with kids ranging from 9 - 15 years old. We had a wonderful stay at Beatrice. The location was great. Many places to walk and eat and explore within walking distance. Jeff was a wonderful host, very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. The place was big. We really liked the tall ceilings and the space, which was great for our dogs. Highly recommend!

Excellent stay

One of the few times that the home was more impressive than the pictures. It was a lovely stay. Only thing I could suggest would be to have more pots and pans for cooking.

Great stay in Catskill!

Lovely stay in this beautifully furnished historic home, there was plenty of space and the bedrooms are so roomy. It was a little chilly in the morning and we enjoyed the gas fireplace. Our family was in town for a theater event and this was the perfect location. Main Street has lots of shops and restaurants ans we had breakfast at Willa’s twice-don’t miss it!

A Stay With Style

Beatrice is beautiful inside and out. The stylish space has so much room for a family or group to spread out. Beds and linens were especially comfortable but the true star is the sprawling porch. It's a quick walk to Catskill shops, restaurants, and cafes. We can't wait to come back!

We had a lovely stay. Plenty of room & beautiful updates to make this home cozy. Love the lighting through the house. Only thing we couldn’t find was a brush for outdoor grill. Definitely would stay again.

Home away from home

We had an amazing stay at this property. We were there for work and my team and I really enjoyed how spacious, clean and accommodating this property was to all of our needs. We especially appreciated having the groceries delivered to the house before we arrived. We would definitely rent this property again.

Great house for groups

Well restored old house with large living and dining areas great for groups. Good location on the edge of cute downtown Catskill, with a short drive to Hudson. Even though it’s right by downtown it was very quiet at night. My only suggestions would be more minor creature comforts- some throw blankets and more floor/tabletop lighting in the living rooms, and better toilet paper.

Beatrice—the house is large and somewhat well furnished.

The house is large and somewhat well furnished as a group of professionals we would have appreciated small tables and a chair akin to the one in the kitchen for our laptops in the bedrooms. In addition a bench at the bottom of the beds to put the multitudinous decorative pillows. There was dust and grit in the bedroom dresser drawers. Also there needs to be better lighting coming down the stairs from the parking spaces.

Christmas in Catskill

Wonderful stay for Christmas holidays gathering. Plenty of room for families to spread out or be together. Two lovely gathering rooms and hosts provided surprise Christmas tree in living room with cozy fireplace and a piano for entertainment. Moved back and forth between TV room for movies, games and puzzles. (Great selection of books and games.) Beautifully restored historic home with impeccable decor. Perfect mix of modern and period with just the right touches, no clutter, which we appreciate. Kitchen accoutrements provided everything necessary for numerous holiday feasts enjoyed in the large, ambient dining room. A few minutes walk down the street are shops, eats and drinks for daily outings. Beautiful home, comfortable beds, all needs provided for. Perfect score!

Beautiful House Inside - Outside needs a lot of work

This house was wonderful inside, but the grounds need work. The railings on the front steps and the back steps leading to the parking spaces are dangerous and need to be fixed immediately before someone falls and gets injured. The landscaping in the front and the back of the house need a LOT of work. There are numerous "volunteer" trees that need to be removed. There are some beautiful flowers and bushes in the front and back of the house that are being overtaken by weeds and overgrowth. All of this detracts from the beauty of the house and should be addressed ASAP.

Great spot to explore upper Hudson River Balley

This house is spacious, clean, and ideally suited for exploring the upper Hudson Valley. Located in the center of the town of Catskill, it is quiet, and convenient to locations on both river banks. Great for large groups or families. I have been a VRBO renter for over a decade. This particular rental property has a more involved registration process than I have thus far encountered. It includes a lengthy contract, an uploaded government identification document, and facial identification. Unfortunately, the facial identification would not allow IOS software and thus required tech help and an alternate device. Unfortunately, these latter requirements were revealed only days before entry to the property, and were time consuming.

Spacious house in river town

The house is rather ostentatious for this small town of artists and working class people. Located next to a church on one side and a tattoo parlor on the other with some vacant lots across the street. However, at edge of a lovely downtown with variety of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Decor is on the minimalist side - mix of a few antiques and mostly modern furnishings. All mechanical systems worked well, except shower in the master bedroom which was difficult to operate without getting the whole bathroom wet. Oddly, there were no screens in any of the windows. The weather was so nice we did open the windows after some hesitation and had no problem with insects. So maybe that's why there were no screens. Many window panes have original wavy glass which is saying that is wavy. Parking is convenient to the rear of the house. There is a back and side yard which is almost completely fenced in for pets except for about a 10-ft gap where there had been fencing at one time. I don't know why they wouldn't put some wire fencing across that since the posts are already there and then it would be much easier to bring your pets. There was some poison ivy by the path in the backyard that needs to be removed. Well stocked kitchen including things like coffee and tea. We bought measuring cups since we did some baking and left them for the next person.
