Eleanor Peaslee died, her surviving sisters thought a family tomb beneath a granite sphinx would be a fitting tribute. So, they sold one of their summer cottages and commissioned the work. However, the infatuation with Egyptian architecture was apparently a passing fancy. When the sisters' time to move on from this life had come, they were interred elsewhere.

This man, Harry Leon Collins, held a job I didn't even know existed. He was the corporate magician for Frito Lay. This statue was sculpted by fellow Kentuckian and eternal neighbor at Cave Hill Cemetery, Barney Bright.
