“Mi Happy Place” became our happy place for a few glorious nights. Emily was incredibly gracious leaving us several unexpected goodies like a s’mores bag and fresh bread and cherries. Watching the full moon rise over the lake was an added bonus! The house is cozy with luxe finishes and furnishings, soft bedding and all the modern conveniences. A 5-star stay all around!

Quiet Getaway

This is one of the nicest properties we’ve ever stayed in. Newly renovated, high-end finishes, incredible outdoor space. We loved the lake and nearby activities. Very quiet road. Highly recommend!

First annual up north family trip

We had and extremely memorable weekend staying in Emily’s beautiful home. It brought our children so much joy and we feel so grateful to be able to create these lasting memories with them. The lake was so serene and the house in perfect condition!

Love staying here!

My sister and I stayed here for the second time and loved it just as much as the first time. The setting is so quiet and peaceful, the house is clean and just like the photos show. We were a short drive from shopping and wineries. We love coming here!

Perfect Lakeside Cottage

We loved our stay at this adorable cottage on Lake Leelanau. It was perfect for our family of four… My only complaint was that when we booked the cottage, it showed one of the rooms as having bunk beds, which would’ve been perfect for our two children. When we arrived, the bunkbeds had been taken out and replaced by a queen bed. Other than that, the cottage, location, and lakefront property were all absolutely perfect!

Our Happy Place

Emily and MI Happy Place were fantastic. The house was spotless and very well furnished. It was equipped with everything we could need and more. The neighborhood was lovely and the sunrises were spectacular. What a well-named cottage!

Heavenly!

The cottage was perfect for my husband and I! We had any and everything we needed at our fingertips. Clean, comfortable and you can’t beat the view!! We will be back!

Lake Leelanua

This cottage is small but nicely appointed and has all the kitchen necessities. The location is great. Out of town but close enough to get anywhere in 15-30 minutes. The cottage sits right on the lake which is beautiful and very big. The setting is very peaceful. Great deck for relaxing and eating. Two Tvs, one bath, two fairly small bedrooms. But the living/dining area is very comfortable. I find VRBO's site cumbersome to communicate with the property owners, but the property owner communicated promptly.

Fantastic Property!

We stayed at the property in early October and it was wonderful. Extremely clean and cozy. We loved the fire pit and string lights outside. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely Getaway on Lake Leelanau

My husband and I stayed at this property for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The property was clean, cute and cozy! The kitchen was stocked with every tool or dish you might need if you wanted to cook for yourself and the sunrises over the lake in the morning were unbeatable! Host was extremely responsive both prior and during the stay! The house is also conveniently located, a short drive to several smaller towns and Traverse City and to the lighthouses and dunes. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a lovely little getaway in MI!

Perfect spot to unwind and explore

We stayed at the house for a week in the end of August and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The owner was helpful, kind, and communicative. Checking in and out was a breeze. The house was on a lovely spacious property with great water access, gorgeous landscaping, and many outdoor amenities to use. We loved the outdoor space on the deck as an extension of the inside. We loved the dock for fishing, launching our canoe and paddleboards, and swimming with our kids. We enjoyed the firepit in the cool evenings and the grill for dinners. The inside of the house is cozy, bright, light filled, and had everything we needed. Great for a family with one or two small children. Even a tree swing out front which our kids enjoyed. Bonus: Very friendly neighbors! We cannot wait to come back next summer. It was literally a relaxing oasis close to all you want to explore on the Leelanau peninsula.

Explore the whole peninsula from this awesome location

We loved our family's stay here. The location is central to exploring the whole area but feels peaceful and quiet. Plenty of room to spread out and the lake access is amazing. The bedrooms and bath are a little tight but the living space and huge outdoor deck are where we spent most of our time. The cottage is fully equipped for families with lots of games and fun. We built a fire almost every night and loved looking up at the stars. Emily was a helpful host and easy to communicate with.

Peaceful, Relaxing House on Beautiful Lake Leelanau

House was the perfect size for our family of 4. Very clean, comfortable and a perfect location right on the lake. The porch was definitely the highlight with plenty of seating and a fire pit just off the water (we even were provided with s'mores sticks and inflatable tubes for our kids). Can't say enough about the owner...communication and check-in were a breeze, she gave us plenty of information on the surrounding areas and was thoughtful enough to bake us cookies as a welcome gift. Can't recommend this house enough and we will definitely be back!

We would love to go back!

Tiny little cottage, but *just right.* The deck was the best part. A little noisy at times with water skiers going back and forth, but overall very peaceful. Very nice lake- not too mucky, no weeds in front. Beautifully updated and landscaped. Enjoyed walking up and down the dead end road in the evening and walking to blueberry picking. Lots of fans so is didn't get too hot and air conditioning for good sleeping. Love our time there.

Up North Retreat

Lovely site and perfect location for poking around Leelanau Peninsula. Emily was very responsive and helpful, even left us a book of suggested hikes in the area. Would highly recommend !

Wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend at this cottage! Being able to wake up to the sunrise over the lake is amazing! I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend at the lake!

Outstanding deck, right on the water

The highlights of the house are the open kitchen / dining / living area , the deck / grill area, and the wide lakefront footage with a great firepit. All of it has a great east facing view right on the lake - get up early and watch the sunrise at least once. The house is a 20-30 minute drive from the bigger towns around Leelanua, the positive being you can get to Glen Arbor, Leland, or Suttons Bay in a short drive and explore the whole peninsula. Emily was super responsive to any question or issue we had and we really enjoyed our week there!
