Old building in Cedar Key
Nice old fishing little town,
In 1989, eight thousand acres in and around Cedar Key were added to the National Register of Historic Places in an attempt to preserve and protect the marshes and wetlands in Florida. An archeological park in the area provides evidence of early man's "shell cultures" that lived along these marshes thousands of years ago. It's the perfect place to slip into the water in a kayak (rentals are available in the area) and really experience the rhythm of life up close and personal.
Sunset across the barrier islands of Cedar Key. The barrier islands extend 3 miles into the Gulf of Mexico, offering vistas not available along other portions of Florida's west coast.

This is an older motel. It is super cute. Has had some upgrades. Basic cheap upgrades though. The front desk lady is awesome. She is so nice and genuine and friendly. She had some super friendly cats. If you like cats you’ll love the orange one who will come inside and snuggle with you if you leave ...

This cottage is just lovey. So peaceful. You can walk to town . We brought our boat at caught nice speckled sea trout.
